Took the last two against Laredo to win the series. First series win of the season I believe. Went to Sunday's game, was dissapointed by the lackluster attendance, but what with the high heat, the wind, and the rain, and being a Sunday night, I wouldn't expect much, but it was fun being able to hear your voice echo all through the park because of the lack of bodies to absorb it... I think. Anyways, must say though that the croud that was there were pretty loyal and got into the game. There was realy only five or six of us that really heckled the other team and got into their pitchers heads, but it was a lot of fun.
The problem with Sunday's game was an all around lack of pitching. Agostoso... or something like that, finished the game with 5 or 6 K's before leaving in the 6th I believe. Our relivers though were quite impressive. Especially our closer who pitched back to back shutout innings. Almost had a fight break out in the fifth between some cocky based runner and our pitcher, but we punished them in the 6th with a 6 run 2 out rally to tie the game.
It's quite clear that the home town loves Eric Davis, and Davis gave the fans something worth having in a two run homer in the second, and then a two RBI double in the 4th. However, Eric is either all in, or all out. He struck out swinging at his last at bat in the 8th. Believe he only went 2 for 5, or maybe 3 for 5. Anyways, I'd like to see some mental errors cleared up. They looked like a young team with a lot of power in their bats. Just got to clean up the fielding and bring the pitchers up to par.
The Dillas had a rough start this season, but with a two game win streak going, maybe we'll see some confidence and get this kids winning. Just remember Edinburg, we'll be see you again soon.
