How can One loss Fayetteville be ahead of undefeated Lakeland who beat Fayetteville...How can one win Palm Beach behind Big Sky and Pop Warner team Lincoln/St Joes Middle School? A no win team and a one win team who beat the no win team...Palm Beach beat Osceola (
luckily) ..Further more Big Sky beat Lincoln and Lincoln is still ahead of them? Makes sense to me... I know whoever does this doesnt make money on it or anything...But man.. Some of this stuff is so obvious.. Here is my rankings

1)Lakeland
2)Rapid City
3)Fayetteville
4)Billings
5)River City
6)Katy
7)Osceola
8)Tri Cities
9)Wyoming
10)Beaumont
11)Montgomery
12)Cincinnati
13)Charleston
14)Greensboro
15)Florida
16)Palm Beach
17)Arkansas
18)Dayton
19)Tennessee
20)Big Sky
21)Twin City
22)Lincoln/St Joes Middle School(im sorry but this may be the worst football team ever in the history of sports)

Jimbo, your ratings do make more sense. (especially since you moved Palm Beach to 16th. Hopefully we will be moving up some more after tonight!)

You mean moving down. Looks like you did not make the trip this week maybe you can come up and see us next weekend

Yeah,, hopefully I'll make it next week. Glad you all are willing and able to host a second game up there. As for moving up or down in your rankings,,,technically they are YOUR rankings so even if we win, you could drop us right down to the bottom of the list to spite us. LOL Seriously though,,good luck. I hope we win but do realize what we are up against. You guys have a strong team.

Um, Dumbo, you say "so obvious" regarding your rankings, but you forget the dynamics of this league. Rookie! Some day you will learn. Here are the real rankings (for now) and the reasons:

1)Rapid City
2)Billings
3)RiverCity
4)Lakeland
5)Fayetteville

Rapid City - undefeated so far.
Billings beat RiverCity.
RiverCity beat Lakeland.
Lakeland beat Fayetteville.

How much more "obvious" can you get? Rapid City is at Billings next weekend, the best game in the NIFL this year!

I think both of you are full of it. The ratings mean nothing, but go the site and learn how they are done. Quality of wins against records of other teams and if they were on the road, etc. plenty of things to consider if you like ratings. I still think you should have a coach's poll, it would be a bit more fair. As far as Rapid City being #1, possible, but to me they still have not played the quality of teams some others have. They have not faced an Osceola, a Fayetteville, a Katy, a Lakeland, or a River City that I know of but of course I could be wrong. Oh and I think most of the wins have been at home which helps a lot in this league. Home teams win a large % of games historically.

The ratings I posted were my own based purely upon logic. Rapid City is undefeated, tough to do in this league. The Billings Outlaws beat RiverCity who beat Lakeland who beat Fayetteville who beat Osceola (twice). Rapid City and RiverCity both destroyed Katy. That covers all of GTDREWS teams mentioned. The pecking order is rigidly established based upon existing game results. Rapid City plays Billings for the undisputed best team in the NIFL this weekend. Period. I welcome any LOGICAL arguments to that statement. Jamie, I'm being nice... =)

That ranking was writen before this weekends games...When Lakeland was undefeated as well as Rapid City and Fayetteville and Billings had one loss each....1 2 3 4 ... Osceola was ranked 7th When and if i decide to write new ones this weekends results will change the rankings...I only made my rankings because I thought the Massey ones were way off...Which they were Fayetteville was in front of Lakeland who beat fayetteville... Big Sky was behind Lincoln St Joes after beating them...Made no sense so I wrote my own which did. The date of the post means everything..To this point I have yet to learn how to predict the future ...When I do you will never hear from me again as I wont spend any of my time on here.

Flying Aces! Nice to see you on this post! We are so looking forward to seeing you this weekend. We have a lot of respect for your team considering how many of your key members played on previous Outlaws teams. I believe we have mutual respect and I hope you share in our determination that this weekend's winner will be considered the NIFL "best team". Will you be here for the game?

Whoever wins this game has to be considered the best team in the league...But that means so little... Thats what the playoffs are for...This is not the NCAA.. Thankfully a champion is not decided in the polls.

What some of you appear to be forgetting or possibly can't read is that it's a Massey Rating chart. You would be surprised to see how much Stats not game one's go into this formula. This week I would bet that River City is number one based on the fact they had a win over a team that was over .500. To earn more go to the Massey site at http://www.masseyratings.com/theory/massey.htm#rating. But be prepared for some boring stuff. Rankings is what we seem to be talking on here, so Rapid City should be ranked #1 due to their record. We all at least think our team is #1 as it should be in our eyes, but try to learn something today and go to the site and you will see. Drew.

I will be in Billings for the game this weekend. I hope you all take care of us! They announced at our game against Wyoming about a caravan up to Billings for the game so hopefully quite a few show up. I hear the MetraPark is a nice facility. I also know Magic and Higgs are ready to return to Billings. It's going to be fun. Robert Reed has nothing against our secondary, no sacks for Eugene Phillips because he can't catch Higgs, no one can catch Higgs when he scrambles, and James Jones will make any defender on Billings look stupod. He is the best player in the NIFL. A little trash talk for the game! :) Good luck to both, can't wait to see a game outside of Rapid!!!

Aces: You know what they say about aces & eights...Win streak stops at 8. We are sitting next to your teams bench (Jailhouse seats). Look for us, we'll be the ones taunting your team. I'm sure you'll be sitting behind us, seems that's where the losing fans always sit. Some trash back at you. Sounds like crappy weather, won't slow down the tailgating though. Hope to see you there.

Aces, nice to see you flicking a little crap. You will undoubtedly be within earshot of us at the game. Heck, even Rapid City is within earshot! We will be looking to find you some time before or during the game. Should we ask for GoAces? If the weather is crappy, ask about the location of a little place called Tiny's before or after the game. Otherwise, good weather will have us tailgating up top. We love to meet with opposing fans and we never disappoint. See you at the game!

I don't call running 20 yards backwards scrambling. And don't tell me he doesn't do it because I had to look at it for a year and a half. I also had to see Magic hurt my Outlaws because he thought a kicker wasn't needed. You will see why on Saturday why I don't miss either one of those two. But it will be a great game, and I can't wait. Hopefully the METRA will be rocking because every little bit helps.

Another real Outlaws fan...NICE! I guess that makes three of us flinging the trash now. Guard Fan: The Massey Ratings for schedule strength says it all, I couldn't agree with you more. And the Outlaws still have three difficult games left this season. Tough, but will make them ready for the playoffs. I just noticed the new Ratings were released, I was wrong on an earlier post. Katy now has the NIFL's easiest schedule. More ammo for the trash talk thread.

"Aces and 8's" would be a nice thought if we didn't take out the Calvary for nine straight. I believe a "perfect 10" will suit the upcoming game as a more appropriate title...don't you think. Nice to see such a level headed forum for a change. GO ACES

I hate it when the link to the NIFL standings doesn't update the standings in a timely fashion. They show RC at 8-0 still. How 'bout Aces and Nines, not near as clever, huh? Should be a great game, though. Will you be making the trek as well? Go Outlaws (the real ones... in Montana)!

I guess to some the ratings, not rankings, is finally right. I still think the better team is River City based upon whom they have played and who RC has played. The bottom line is who gets it done the last game of the year. I seem to remember one of two teams (Rome) might have finished the season at .500 and went to the finals to lose by 3 or so. If they had been RATED they would have been about 7 or so last year going into the final week. Note that's just my opinion.

so dont get all bent out of shape if you dont like it..just make your own.

1 Rapid City 1 and 2 this weekend alot of questions will be answered
2 Billings their biggest test as well as rapid citys biggest test this weekend
3 River City knocked off former undefated lakeland
4 Lakeland has a home and home with osceola with should be tough ..
5 Fayetteville tough team with only one loss on the road and a couple tight wins..shows character
6 Katy good fans good runner capable of beating almost anyone anyday so be on your game
7 Tri Cities last years champ and remains champ til someone takes it from them
8 Osceola 6-4 but lost their 4 games by 3, 3, 2, and 1 point(s) So dont count em out they play everyone tough
9 Wyoming average team in between the leagues best and worst teams in their division
10 Beaumont got enough to beat ya if you keep them in the game
11 Charleston has alot of heart could sneak up on you if you dont put them away
12 FLorida (theyre on a roll)
13 Cincinati (im not convinced by their record)
14 Montgomery playing alot better since being rehired could be scary if they make the playoffs
15 Greensboro theyre not good but they did manage to win 2
16 Palm Beach playing tough but one win only so you cant jump other teams
ok now for division 2-=its all down hill from here=-
17 Dayton are they still playing?
18 Arkansas not a threat to the top teams
19 Tennessee who knows if they are playing either
20 Big Sky at least they beat someone
21 Lincoln/ St Joes They are the worst by far in my opinion but..
22 Twin City I think they may be done so they drop behind St Joes Middle school

Jimbo, trash aside, what in the world is going on with Osceola? Yeah, I know they aren't losing by much, but it is the teams they are losing to. Posting was more fun when the Osceola crowd had a bite to them. Plus, we still need a chance for a meeting in the playoffs and that won't happen at this pace...

How can the Rage have a home field advantage ranked 20 and Lakeland 19 when Lakeland has one loss, to a top 5 team, on a last second play, and River City has two home field losses in two years, one being a double overtime playoff loss and the other to Billings, a top three team, in a game that came down to the last play? How can teams that have never won at home have a much higher home field advantage ranking?

Little confused on Vikes post. Uh i think the ratings are for this year. At the time Billings was in top 3, when they beat Rage at home. (Dropped pass in endzone, that was last play of that game) The Rage at the time when they beat Lakeland was actually lower (like 6th) in rankings. So Rage at the time losses to a better ranked team at home then Lakeland did. What would it be if like say Dayton beat lakeland at home? Ratings on Lakeland would be lower then 19. If you want to bring up last year stats. The only L at home, was to Cincy that went pretty deep in playoffs. And Rage beat Lakeland last year at our place, and beat them this year at Lakeland. So maybe 20-19 in rankings is about right. Dont know. Its going to be fun watching everything unfold to the playoffs. This crazyness is what makes sports so great.

They havent played great the last few weeks so im not sure whats up...All that aside though they could have and should have won the last 2 games. They have had some injuries..I mean crucial ones...I know everyone does...But they have gone without 2 of their wideouts...Both starting defensive ends...a DB and some others as well...As you know on this level when you lose your top guys its tough to get someone even close to plug in there to replace them. The weird thing is... They are 6-4 but could be just as easily 9-1 ..Its just how it goes sometimes ..They have a bye week this week then off to montgomery....Hopefully this will give them the time to get right.

jimbo: Your rankings make pretty good sense to me. Likely to get shaken up a bit after this coming weekend's Rapid City loss. There will be lots of screaming "We're #1" from a lot of different fans. Injuries are always tough to over come. Finding replacements now isn't easy as everyone is loading up for the playoff push.

My home field advantage question was asking how a team with no wins at home be considered to have more of a home field advantage than a team with only one loss at home? River City and Lakeland each have only one home loss to good teams. There are teams with several home losses ranked higher. How is that?
