Where did you hear about the official announcement?

I thought they were going to be Toronto's team?

Anyway, does anybody have a source?

There was an ABA press release that went out today that the Red Wolves were looking for additional investors. They have the same owners as the Toronto team, so I will assume they are the same team. Since Toronto is in the province of Ontario, I will assume they are going with a more regional approach next season. There was another post today that indicated that Ottawa was probably going to wait another season, so that could be the reason why......

Nothing is ever explicit in this league so you have to do a little detective work and come up with your own conclusions...

I think that's why some of us are attracted to this ongoing ABA story, though.

this team seems to fold every year before there season starts, who knows what going-on with them they seem unable to get off the ground, how about the San Jose team going to the CBA, as fast Joe Newman bring them he looses them that's probably why he open so many markets, it's to get all the cash he can because he know's these are not going to stick around, I would'nt neither I will be tired of Joe ripping me off too.

From what I'm hearing, there is no team, just a scam to raise quick cash from a guy who is under investigation for all sorts of grand larceny by means of fraud. The office phones are all cellular voicemails. The office in New York is that of an attorney who rents a small space. The rest of the office claims either simply don't exist, or are gross exaggerations of the truth. The guys house in Bourne, Massachusetts was in foreclosure in March, and the property they claim to own in Florida has already been foreclosed on. His vehicles were in repossession as recently as last year, and he has apparently been passing bad checks everywhere he can. His partners include young people who have no money, or have been arrested for everything from weapons to narcotics. The federal authorities are looking for one of their business partners as I write this. I believe that the New York and Boston authorities are on the verge of arresting the whole lot of them. In short, they take money in, but nothing ever comes out, and you shouldn't waste either your time or money on them. I wouldn't trust these losers with a lemonade stand.

If they are to play, they are supposed to be in Mississauga, which is the city just west of Toronto. I guess they couldn't play in Mississauga and call themselves Toronto and Ontario Redwolves sounds better than Mississauga Redwolves.

Of course, you have to take this article with a grain of salt. They spell the word "owner" wrong in the second sentenence and claim that the ABA has been around continously since 1967 near the end of the article. The author also appears to believe that the Beijing team actually plays in China. I would think a little homework about the league would have been in order before writing the story.
