I'm a resident of Louisville, Ky and have been spending the better part of 2 years e-mailing information to leagues and teams about Louisville. If I get a reply at all it usually is generic. Does anyone know the secret to getting the UHL to even look at a city that has everything needed for hockey? We had a very good ECHL team (Icehawks) but Mr. Chin (now in the CHL) took them out of town. Then we had the RIVERFROGS (ECHL) and you couldn't get that ticket. That team was sold to make way for the AHL Panthers. This team was owned by the AFR family, and there are a lot of businesses that still want to get paid what is owed them. Louisville can support hockey in a big way!

u want no parts of the UHL. they run the teams ragged and have very poor officiating there is also a lot of salary cap violators that the league office just turn their heads too

Maybe you should look into the SPHL. We are a growing and VERY stable league. We are adding Richmond to the league this year from the UHL. I think a team in KY would fit well being all the teams are in the south east

The closest team is in Knoxville, TN...which isn't THAT close.
Richmond isn't that close, Huntsville isn't that close, Florida teams are real far away, as is Columbus, Fayetteville, and Pee Dee.

I still think it could work with the higher travel cost.

Sorry, GF, but I don't think it would work either. I agree that we need more stable teams, but that is too far away. Maybe in a few years when the league grows some more, and we can get some more teams within that area, divisional play would work with Louisville, but right now, I just don't think its feasible.

The SPHL ( or whatever it's being called this year ) is nothing more than a beer league. If a player plays his guts out for a hundred bucks a week he might get a sniff from the UHL. I get a kick out of those Richmond people thinking they're going to have guys like Oliviera playing for the Renegades, that's not gonna happen folks.

Please explain who thinks we are going to get guys like Olivera. I sure don`t think that way. We do have Goudie but then again he is also going to be assist coach. Would like to see Danny back but am not counting on it. My guess would be that he will sign with the AHL.

Believe it or not that joke about the name is rarely funny now and if it is, it's only when people are joking and not hating.

The SPHL is now a strong A level league and if you want a beer league, look at stuff like the IIHL or the NEHL/CPHL/whatever it's called now. I think they went back to the NEHL name. Neither of those leagues finished 1 whole season.

The SPHL and the people behind the league are either not the same ones that screwed it up or have learned from their mistakes. (DW doesn't seem to be pissing as many people off these days.)

The fans may think/HOPE for old fan favorites to come back and they may get some but that doesn't make them laughable.

You seem like one of those who dog a league just for the hell of it because they have nothing beter to do.
