This just in from the league office…

After seeing the Miami Valley Silverbacks logo, Huntington Heroes ownership and management collectively wet themselves earlier today. After quick diaper changes, Heroes owner Greg Ramey, (between sobs of “Scary Monkey, Scary Monkey”) managed to call the league offices and asked to speak directly to the top man – Tim McKyer. After the laughter subsided, he spoke to league officials who managed to calm him down to the point where he could actually get out from under his desk.

The league responded to the situation immediately in an effort to placate the distraught Heroes ownership. A call was placed to Miami Valley to see if they would mask off any occurrences of their fear-inducing logo, and prevent fans from wearing any clothing that might include the offensive gorilla logo. The call went unanswered after the first ring, so the league was forced to cancel the game and award a victory (by forfeit) to Huntington. The Heroes declared this victory another step towards league domination… or something. Ramey was later heard to say “I really just don’t like monkeys.”

The AIFL must not be big fans of parody. This same post lasted all of 2 minutes before being yanked from their board.

Seems an odd choice to award a forfeit for the Canton game, the basis of this parody. What we don't know is if the Legends were warned before for roster reporting irregularities, and this was the final straw. They were publicly chastised by the league earlier in the season for failing to keep stats for a game.

Have been told that the forfeit decision is under review by the league and not official as of this time.

Allowing this game to be a forfeit would destroy what little integrity the playoff race has. Two free wins for Huntington is unacceptable. A stiff fine may be in order for Canton, but not a forfeit.

The league has successfully ostracized the entire Huntington organization. No one in the league wants anything to do with them, and I think it's hilarious.

Haines is a crook, trying his best to bankrupt small-market owners before they can establish a foothold in the market. Sells 'em, repo's them, and sells them again. How about doing the right thing Andrew, and sell off your interests in the league to people who want to do right by the fans and the communities their teams are located in.

Can't ban me from here Andy... ;)

I was also told it was under review... no timetable yet for a decision. It should never have come to this in the first place.

They let them play the game, and Canton won on the field. You can't cry foul after the fact.

Sad but true. The whole scene of smaller league indoor football is a shambles. I believe UIF is at least on the right track. Hopefully the better run and ownership teams are able to survive the demise of AIFL and NIFL and put together some decent form of a national league. I hate to see it going down the way it is, and ultimately it is the fans in the cities the teams represent who suffer.

You can say what you want about the Huntington Franchise. The bottom line is that they have worked there tails off to make this thing go. They have secured a winning season and only have the ghostchasers in there way of a playoff berth.

The league has done zero to help this team including the Canton foreit, wheter you agree with it or not Canton was told before the game if you play those 4 players that are not on your legal roster then you automaticly fofeit the game. Then as always Andrew and the boys have no guts and go back on there word, because they are afraid that the boys from Canton will take there ball and head to the GLFL, well don't be suprised if that doesn't happen anyway.

Silverback fans say what you want but the combined score of the Heroes vs. Silverback games were 117-61 so that pretty much sums up your poor attempt in this league when a little ole franchise team...as you said a bunch of hillbillies just kicked the lung out of you twice. There is no fear of the silverbacks I am sure we would like to play them 3 or 4 more times this year.

Just live with the facts that the boys from Huntington have fought through tremendous obstacles mainly league obstacles and have produced a winning season and a possible playoff spot. Not bad for a team that had only a few weeks to throw together a team.

Don't be a hater.....enjoy the journey!

Some people just don't understand what the situation was about. No matter what the league said before the game, they should follow their own rules. In the rules it says that illegal players result in a fine, not a forfeit. That is why it was protested and everyone was mad at Huntington for those few weeks.
