I just ordered a set of 2004 Louisville Fire trading cards. I noticed that there were three players in the set from Japan. At first, I thought it was some sort of joke or gimmick, but the players had other Arena experience. Was this some sort of exchange program with the AF2 or did these players just happen to make the team?

I know that there used to be an annual International Player Draft. First year was 2003, then again in 2004 but not sure beyond that. you can find that 04 set in my indoor football trading card guide www.bm-publishing.com

The af2 has a program that trys to help further Arena Football around the world. Every year 2 or 3 teams play against the All-Japan Samurai Warriors and they also have some players that are good enough and want to try out come over to the US. I think there are a few Canadians, Mexicans, British, ect as well.
