With the recent return of the St. Louis Skyhawks, St. Joseph likely returning, the Florence Flyers expansion team and the possibility of another expansion team in the Northeast; the USBL is looking at possibly 14 teams for this coming season. Even at its worse, the USBL will be at 12 teams(excluding the Northeast expansion team & probably the Texas Rimrockers). Looking good USBL.

Would it not be better to regionalize the league? Look for expansion in a six hour radius rather than cross country travel?
I know the CBA is doing alright to date, but the travel has to kill their budget. I just think that rivalry games could form with teams that play each other more frequent.
After you pay your franchise fee of 300,000 that is a chunk out of your first year budget. Just a thought.
Actually the league is already pretty regionalized.
The teams in the Midwest spend most of their time travelling in the Midwest and the teams in the Northeast do the same (Although South Carolina and Brevard will cause travel headaches). I can take my team back east and play six games with a couple of plane trips in a 12 days...the costs are comparable to chartering a bus and going to Iowa or St. Louis and spending a lot of time on the road.
We play the Eastern teams once each home and home...then fill the rest of the schedule in the Midwest...Travel is not really too bad. One big Eastern road trip, vans to Dodge City and Salina, possibly bus or fly to St. Louis and Cedar Rapids.

Does anyone have any idea what this other northeast team is.
There is no other Northeast team. I believe there had been talk of another team in NY.
Midwest: Kansas, Dodge City, Oklahoma, Cedar Rapids, St. Louis.
East: Florence, Brevard, Westchester, Brooklyn, Adirondack, Pennsylvania.
Gone from 2003: Texas.
New for 2004: Florence, Cedar Rapids, St. Louis.

Texas gone?
How can that be? I thought our buddy Mark left a strong foundation there to build on.
It is hard to believe the RimRockers won't be around for everybody to pad their records and stats on
But, they do hope to be back for 2005.
