'Renegades' return to Richmond

The Renegades are returning to the Richmond Coliseum. Allan B. Harvie Jr., announced this morning that Richmond will be affiliated with the Southern Professional Hockey League beginning with the 2006-07 season. Harvie said his company, Richmond Renegades LLC, has reached an "agreement in principle" with the Coliseum for home games and expects to complete the deal soon.

Harvie also said the team's coach will be former Hampton Roads Admirals' coach John Brophy, whose team was the chief adversary of the old Renegades when the two clubs were members of the East Coast Hockey League. Brian Goudie, who played for the previous Renegades and the Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League, was named a player/coach.
