Hello there has been a new basketball league added to the pro competition. IT is called the FPBBL fast pace basketball league. Starting a franchise team might be expensive. But this is not it cost 500 dollars to start one. All they need is 4-6 teams to start. the first team was announced to today the philadelphia flag men. how the game works is it is only half the court. you also only have 7-8 players on a team. 3 players from each team are playing on the court. If your interested in starting a team in your city. email alex winokur at electroniccabnet@yahoo.com He owns the league.

Ps : they want 4-8 teams to have there first draft. unlike the nba you only have to be 17 to get in the league. They are also working a tv deal.

Why not $100 or $29.99 why does a franchise cost $500, personally I believe thAT CUSTOMERS would be more willing to buy a team if the price was $499.99. I learned that in Marketing class back in the 80's. However, I feel this league idea would work best in N.W. Canada (outdoors)! think about it!!!
Fast break half-court basketball outside with teams in Nome, Alaska, Yokon and the Northwest Territories. Those boys would really have to hustle (just to stay warm), it would be non stop action, plus the league could be the setting for an awesome reality T.V. show on OLN. One question, what does $500 buy, how would the league be able to exist on only $3000?

Here's the league:
Nome Nomads
Whitehorse Goldpanners
Yellowknife Yellers
Port Barrow Barrelrollers
Inuvic Innies
Prudhoe Bay Prunners

BTW: OLN is changing its name to Versus (It was a little strange for a network that was covering the NHL to call itself Outdoors).

This league could produce a show bigger than idol, get 2 inner city Junior College Legends ("In their own minds") and put them on a winless team with LA Clipper like management full of talentless middle aged Alaskans in sub freezing temperatures. The J.C. guys despite their talent would be placed on the bench like they do in the EURO league because of their age and lack of Indy league experience (athletic ability is neutralized within the first three freezing minutes of the first quarter in the Indy league, after that the insane have the advantage!)- a mic would capture the J.C. Legends conversations dealing with how they did not come all the way to Nome to freeze their azz off on the bench, how they can't feel their toes and how the league is racist for banning long johns and tights. Plus, the coach would have to be a certifiable insane to insure K.Mart type melt downs that would occur during half in the heated locker room by the J.C. Legends.
The show would also steal some of Trumps thunder. All the players from the losing team would have to report to the heated locker room (The winners would have to play the second half of a will breaking sub-zero double header, therefore the losing coach would have a Jim Mora style melt down feeling his team laid down so they could relax in the heated locker room) Where the weakest players would join clicks and vote off the better players for being crazy enough for trying to win and be forced to spend 3 more hours playing basketball in shorts and tank tops in sub-freezing temperatures.

I'm going to start a Whiffle Ball League starting next spring. The WBL will consist of 4 players on each team. One pitcher, one catcher, one infielder and one outfielder. Franchises can be purchased for $6.99, the cost of a bat and ball. The only rule changes that will occur will be as follows:

We will only play when wind gusts are at least 20 MPH.
If you hit the ball into a neighbors yard, your automatically out.
No strong wind......No game.
Players will be compensated with Twinkies and warm Gatorade.

As Joe Newman stresses......... family fun at affordable prices. We will need to get Whiffle Ball ringtones, dance teams, and maybe a few ex cons to rap at halftime. We should have 120 teams in 20 divisions of 6 teams each. If any member of your team can spell ABA.........you make the playoffs.

Stay tuned for more details as the erupt !!
