No need to waste time on people like this. If the two Fayetteville guys spent half the time looking at web sites as they did "CHATTING" on line, I'm sure they would know the story. On the Osceola web site there are multiple pictures of the mascot. Ask Billings and the league why we are not the Outlaws. Anyway, judging by the LOL and the email terminology, I'm sure their Friday nights are full of myspace and WWW.%$#@* girls.com. See you in Fayetteville next week. Both teams look good. This should be a great game.
PS Fireants......go Seals. 2nd place in first year. Ants squashed.

who needs a name, we have a great team...a good arena, great dance team, a mascot, owners who actually pay their bills, great gear, great uniforms, great game day production, great playing surface... This team is 1st class all the way....A rare thing in the NIFL...So who gives a crap about the name.

jimbo32712
04-16-2006, 01:52 AM
name or no name at least our team doesnt suck. Makes it fun its like not getting the license number of the truck that hit you....We'll beat the stuffing out of your team...But you wont know the name of the team who did it.

nksports
04-16-2006, 09:42 PM
They could come onto the field to America's "Horse with No Name." They could put on the uniforms and helmets "Your name here. 555-xxxxx"

They could auction the naming rights on e-bay. Maybe someone like the Red Bull people could buy them like they did with the MLS MetroStars. Who knows, maybe Hooters would like to get back into indoor football? The possibilities are endless.

I imagine with the team you have and how bad they are, you might be in the garage drinking alot of beer, Mr. Copperhead fan.

When new ownership got ahold of the Kissimmee team back in November, they christened it the Osceola Outlaws, not knowing that Billings had trademarked the Outlaws name already. Billings pitched a fit, Osceola tried to settle, and then Billings stopped talking about it completely.

Why bother? Who cares? There's 2 Roughriders in the Canadian Football League. Billings and Osceola wouldn't even play this year unless both teams reached the Indoor Bowl. And if they did, that would be perfect .... The Play For the Name Game!

Expect to see Osceola debut a new name by the end of the month ... because after all, it's just another beautiful day here in the NIFL ...

They could have a name game at the end of the season, sort of like 1960s or 70s roller derby (or pro wrestling). The winner gets to keep the name and the loser "must leave town forever and that's a long, long time." (but it's funny how they always found a way to come back to town.)

We had a Dan Austin of the Billings Outlaws on Under the Roof April 6 (episode still posted at http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/oscradio/oscradio.php?showid=1) back to talk about the situation. They are the Outlaws, though the league refuses to recognize it for the time being. It may not be too long before it's all sorted out.

I know, but it doesn't say that on the NIFL site.

They also say that Southwest Louisiana and San Angelo are part of the league and that Lincoln, Hammond, and Charlotte are alive and well on said site. Lesson learned-Niffle site may not be the best source of your most up to date information as pertains to the league.

Do ya think? anyone who was around last year can't help but feel for those guys who are waiting to be paid and are getting the usual bla bla bla! But hey, Osceola has a mascot! He's at every game, entertaining the fans. The team just doean't have an "Official" name. But I still think of them as the "Outlaws". When we play the Billings team, we'll worry about it. If we don't ever play them, then no big shakes.

Been a spectator, time to be a player. The Billings Outlaws have been around since at least 2002. It's too bad the whole name thing got screwed up to begin with. For some reason unknown to most of us in Billings, we became the Mavericks last season only (although we still called the team the Outlaws). We were very happy to see our name return with a great team again. Best of luck Osceola, may we meet in the name bowl (A.K.A. Indoor Bowl VI).

Nice piece of history, OutlawFan, you've inspired me to toss in my 2 cents worth. Let me add to the history. Last year, Osceola Football was Kissimmee Kreatures and had a very forgettable season. I can see why they'd change the name. The Outlaws trademark does, in fact, belong to Billings and we will retain that right. Thorgsd was right, it sucks having a new team like Osceola popping up trying to take our name... P.S. As for the "Better Outlaws", we lost one game - a highly disputed 3-point loss on the road to last years champs. Osceola has yet to beat a winning team (they've only even PLAYED one, and lost to them twice). They couldn't even beat Palm Beach at home...

Hmmmm. Shouldn't your name be the team formerly known as the Cavs? Looks like your entire roster is Wyoming from last year. Keep in mind one little fact. Florida football is much more intense than that of the midwest. So even the "" bad teams are good. Hence FSU, UF, Miami, UCF, USF, not to mention our Southern sister states w/ UGA, BAMA, Auburn, GT, UNC, USC. Who makes up your team? Mountain West colleges? Playoffs are right around the corner. We'll see you there.

OriginalOutlaw

Um, playing only 2 teams the entire year which presently have a winning record is nothing to brag about - especially if you lose all of those games. A major powerhouse in the Atlantic Conference (where I hear they play really intense football) is the RiverCity Rage. Actually, RiverCity is a very good team, but Osceola won't get the opportunity to lose to them like they will the other Atlantic Division leaders. Funny how the Rage are ranked higher than Osceola (Massey Rating) and RiverCity has lost only one game all year - at home - to the Billings Outlaws. P.S. - Your trash is weak.

outlaw1: We're talking pro/semi-pro football, right? Where players change teams more often than Floridians change their underwear. There are former players from Billings playing in Rapid City, Tri-Cities, and Wyoming. It's the nature of the business. There are 2.5 times as many people in Dade county alone than all of Montana so Florida football had better be intense. We love our football just as much here, "Mountain West" folks just aren't afraid of the snow. How is it you guys have six wins? Were two by forfeit? Wasn't one against the team that just beat you at home? Us Westerners are curious Kreatures (wait, isn't that name already taken???) Lucky to have a winning record, huh? Good luck with the playoff push. I would love to see you knock off Lakeland.

We hope to see the other Outlaws in the playoffs as well. Sorry, but right now, Osceola has a bitter taste from the game vs. WP. That was just a reaction type post from a bitter fan. (me) Sorry about that. If the d-line gets healthy and returns, I think Osceola will get back on track. This weekend will be a real test. I'm gone until I have something to be happy about. Go Osceola.

outlaw1

To be honest, I do not want to start making excuses for fear that the WP owner may come back and curse the world again. However, Osceola was puting a thorough whooping on them until the wheels fell off. 5 turnovers in one half. All but one were in the red zone. Also, several key injuries are hampering the D from what I hear. But I hear most will return for this week in Miami. They are still the same Osceola. Major wake up call. It happens.

Minor League Man

Come on, Osceola has been through a lot this year, all because of other teams (Billings, Charlotte, Palm Beach, Montgomery, Dayton, and Jacksonville to name a few). Yet they've managed to pull a winning effort, so give them respect.

Here's my Indoor Bowl prediction:

Billings 51
Osceola 48

2007:
Billings Outlaws
Osceola Posse

Anyone excited about the 2 upcoming games in Lakeland....what do you think the attendance will be for that first game in Osceola...maybe 3,500. dont think they have hit 3,000 there yet. have they?

jimbo32712
06-01-2006, 07:15 PM
We had around 3000 for the last 2 home games...Our attendance is better than most teams in the league. The game vs Lakeland will be a good size. They are promoting the heck out of it and Lakeland is only about 30-40 mins from Osceola so Im sure alot of their fans will make the trip as our fans will make the trip to Lakeland on the 24th.

06-03-2006, 06:42 AM
The Osceola team I saw in F'vile seemed pretty good and I will be pulling for them to make it in the playoffs. A rumor up here is that the Guard just wants a rematch for sure with Lakeland and of couse the Indoor Title. I talked to some players and they said you guys were better. Good luck and I hope to see you come back here to play. Drew.

jimbo32712
06-03-2006, 01:34 PM
Osceola seems to play up or down to the level of the competition. They knew Fayetteville woould be a big test for them and played well and had a chance to win both games. Then playing teams like Florida and Palm Beach they seemed to have more of a sense that all they had to do was show up and they would win. Maybe it comes from all the forfeits (palm beach, Dayton,) and the replacement Montgomery team. Its hard to get up for a real game when you havent played many of them.

TheBetterOutlaws

outlaw1

They play at an arena that belongs the county and the Silve Spurs Rodeo. There is a rodeo type event all week. Thousands of pounds of dirt and clay go in, football goes out. That's it. Could not predict the future, but when you " " put a championship caliber team together, this may have been a bit overlooked. Go Osceola. At least what is left.
