View Full Version : Jacksonville Stallions are a joke!

 Don't hold you breathe, the Jacksonville Stallions have been shut down by their own employees because the general manager/owner is a purloiner. Folks if you run across this character, run because he will take your shirt off your back and has a history of doing these acts with a women's football team in the past. Stay away from the Stallions, they are not a team that will be around much longer and don't believe a word this character "thief" has to say. There's lots of angry vendors, employees and charitable organizations that are not talking to this team. I'm a vendor that was screwed by him for too long.

I'm sorry that you feel that you have been cheated. You haven't. You, and I know who you are, have failed to contact the other owner as I asked you to do to get your matter resolved. As a result, you have created a slanderous case against yourself that I will be pursuing if you continue. Put real simple, the employees failed to do their job and their resignations were accepted. I take full responsibility for the failure in leadership, I am the General Manager. However, I am fixing that problem, by accepting the resignations of the staff that failed to do their job, and by personally going out and doing the work that the director of sales was supposed to be doing and supervising his staff to do.
Again, if you have any further comments to make, please feel free to contact me, or better yet, follow the directions I provided you to resolve your matter. It is your decision to not do what was needed to be done to get your matter resolved, no one elses.

just when I was getting my hopes up for some more indoor football it sounds like the Stallions might be like the rest of the NIFL. Well I have no way of knowing if what this accuser says is true, more often than not with the NIFL it is.
I guess I'll wait and see and show up for the games if they have any. Oh how I miss the af2.

Unlike our accusers, I stand up like an adult, admit fault and work to rectify situations rather than sling mud. I'm here as an owner and GM trying to set the record straight and offer up facts that can be verified. Unlike our accusers that our slanderously calling me a thief, I'm am a small business owner working to make things work, and trying to do so without losing my shirt, at the same time trying to do things correctly. Unlike our accusers, I post who I am and what I do as well as direct communication abilities. Our accusers hide behind anonymity and prefer to sling mud like politicians.
The Stallions are neither a joke, nor or they trying to steal anything. Again, if anyone wants to reach me, it is sam.terry@jaxstallions.com

No Jamie, the most pathetic thing here is the ideology that fielding a sports team without the reasonable means to be a going concern and doing it at someone elses expense (not getting paid/having insurance for the players, etc.) takes precedence on a message board.
Sounds like Jamie has a conflict of interest here. Do you want a fair and balanced approach or do we operate Jamie primarily in the interests of questionable sports league ownership structures first and foremost?
Why would you care?

Where did I say that?
I did suggest that it is a pathetic waste of time to use a message board to rant about someone when they owe you money. If they have a good case, wouldn't you suggest they go to court?

If you have questions, ask them, I have posted my email repeatedly, I'm not afraid to have people ask me questions. As far as not getting paid or having insurance for the players, 1) we have insurance, contact the league, we are part of their insurance policy 2) Only an idiot would go into business to lose money. That is why sponsorships and stuff are created, otherwise we would just give tickets away if we weren't in it for the money.
Also, I have to agree, as I have stated a few times, if someone has a problem, concern, or issue, they need to act like an adult and address it with someone directly.

Ive heard various replys a discussions about disgruntled parties relating to the Stallions "so-called" organization.
I am a player who made the team and paid the tryout fee to go out and have been practicing with the team for some months now.
I have changed my life around and made certain important life decisions based on the fact that I was under the impression that I would be playing Indoor Football for Jacksonville. After hearing about all this, I am wondering what somone has to do to get compensation.
I am about to graduate from UCF in Orlando and my family lives in Jacksonville. I dont have a car and had to rent a car before every practice and drive back and forth every week.
My point is, it has been costly both financially and emotionally for me and I am wondering what the hell went wrong and what someone has to do to get some explanation or some compensation.
If someone could please inform me about any of this, I would greatly appreciate it because I have dedicated so much to this team only to get screwed.

In the immortal words of (the Texas-California singer) Jon (that's right Jon) Wayne:
"Don't drop the soap. Don't smoke no dope.
"Better get a lawyer son. Better get a real good one.
"Better wear a shirt and tie. Better cut your hair way up high."
This would be a good case for "Judge Judy" or maybe Judge Joe Bob at "Texas Justice."

To the player who is renting a car to drive to practice, there is NO compensation for practicing in the NIFL. You may only recieve $200 per game for games played. Also, the team has not right to be practicing, and if they are doing so, they will not be allowed to have pre-season practices next season. They only can have practices before their first game. If they are doing that now, then, they are in vilolation of the rules.

Just like any job, research the company before comitting yourself to such drastic moving expenses. Get stuff in writing. Would you sell/buy another house for a job or run up rental car fees without knowing much about the employer?
Your first hint is being charged a tryout fee! HAHAHAHAHA! That's bush league...well sort of if they don't refund your money after making the team. ;)
In this case the NIFL has an historic record like the WFL of 1974-75. Can't understand how anyone would not know that? The NIFL has been around how many years?
There's also the Better Business Bureau. Contact them to help your fellow (indoor football) man.

As a practicing psychotherapist, you have a higher propensity to not succeed with you inflamatory remarks that you have displayed. I am merely making an expert opinion, but you have all the traits of shame-based anger "people who are very sentitive to criticism often develop this style of anger. The slightest criticism sets off their own shame" and think you should practice good anger skills even if you are a failure.
A psychologist or other licensed mental health professional can work with you in developing a range of techniques for changing your thinking and your behavior jaxstallion 1.
As a professional, the NIFL can do better if people like you who cannot control anger would not allow such events effect you.
Talk to you therapist, if you have problems with anger that you want to work on, go to the doctor or find some alternative source of employment which is obvious by all the preceding comments that you need to find another job.
Football is fun, it should be enjoyable and filled with integrity. We need people to show assertiveness and not be shameful, angry and unpredictable like you have shown. You need to seek mental therapy and seem to have a bipolar disorder, "a severe mental illness involving episodes of serious mania and depression."

Yelling back and forth here is accomplishing nothing and is quickly devolving into nothing more than personal attacks, behavior forbidden on the boards. For the information of EVERYONE: jaxstallions01 is not affiliated with the Jacksonville Stallions in anyway. I do not know who this person is, and would like the administrators to look into this matter of someone trying to pass themselves off as a member of this organization.
As for the member of the team that made it through tryouts, I have spoken to you on the phone and have told you that we were NOT having practices. Coach Perkins and I have discussed this and Coach Galloway is also aware that we are not having practices. From what I have been told the people coming out have been coming out for conditioning only. Some of the people attending have also been preparing to play for a semi-pro team here in Jacksonville also. There are NO practices being held at this time for the Jacksonville Stallions and they will not begin until after the current seaon ends. Someone also mentioned about reimbursement, according to the league operations manual, it is illegal for the team to compensate, reimburse or otherwise reward ANY players other than a max salary of $200 per game. There is a VERY stiff fine for violating that policy.

My understanding is you can only practice 14 days pror to your first game. If your serious and have been approved for a team, then you should know the rules and follow them. It would be great if the league started inforcing all the rules... but???
Do those rules apply to a team that isn't even active this year?
Seems like they can have all the practice(tryouts) that they want until they become officially part of the league, which I would imagine is sometime after the completion of this season. August, September?
I know of teams no longer in the NIFL that were very creative getting around that rule when they were active teams.
I'm not even saying that they're practicing, but if they are or if they aren't.......it's a total non-issue in my book.
Seriously, if this were the worst issue that teams at this level had to worry about, we'd all be a lot happier.

In indoor football, so much can change in a year (a month, a week, a day), that I don't blame them for practicing now. You never know when they may get pressed into action to have to play a game this season.

To be honest, I have no idea if that applies or not, I do know that I'd rather spend this time getting them in shape and prepared for practice so that we don't spend our authorized practice times getting into shape and doing basics that eat up more time than we have available. I also don't want the guys worn out, and even worse, I don't want to teach them all the playbook, than have one or two go to another team and have knowledge of our plays to use against us.

Hey STALLions GM,
Don't you remember? This is the NIFL. Teams that are announced between seasons are supposed to play THE NEXT SEASON! If you wanted credibility, why did you wait a year? Sure the NIFL might be screwed up, but that's the league you applied for, so FOLLOW THEIR NORM! My good friend, the PB Phantoms guy, has his head on straight. If you wanted to "wait a year," you should have joined the af2 or something like that.
I repeat: Even though the NIFL is screwed up, that's the league you applied for, so FOLLOW THEIR NORM!

If it was a choice of waiting a year or being like West Palm Beach, I'd take the year off. In this case its good to not follow the norm. Not following the norm might help make the league better. Besides, there's something to be said for making sure all your ducks are in a row instead of throwing an operation together. (It's apples and Oranges, but the Cleveland Browns 2.0 were a lot more of a hurried up operation than the Houston Texans (Texans had like an extra year compared to the Browns to set up.) and the Texans look to be a lot better off as a franchise than the Browns 2.0)

We went through this thing about waiting a year already, I presented my case and you agreed that maybe it was a good idea, are you changing your position now? I'm not worried about if others are following the rules, I'm trying to make sure we do follow the rules so that no one can say that we disregard them. that is what I'm concerned with, not if the others are or not.

The Charleston Sandsharks were announced AFTER the Jacksonville Procrastinators.
They chose to go this year.
They're probably going to make the playoffs this year, and as far as I know, they don't have any financial problems.
So I had retracted my previous belief, but after seeing how they were doing, I am proven that I WAS right, a team CAN work on such short notice.

So what about the two teams that pulled out right before the season started? Are they lazybones because they made a decision to go the long haul over risking failing their first year? What about the teams that are struggling this year? Are they lazybones because they might not make it through the season? How familiar are you with the markets they are in? What history do minor league sports have in that market...I know in Jacksonville minor league sports have a horrible history, with 3 hockey teams, 3 football (non-NFL) teams, having come and gone, minor league sports have to work many times harder in this market than most.
I will say this to you, if you can do better, come do it then. I'll be glad to sell you my portion of this team and you can come make it happen, since you are so much better at setting up a football team and operating it than anyone else. As they say, there are a few types of people in the world, there are listeners, talkers and then there are DOERS...
