The plan is to uproot the Lincoln players and move them in time for a home game in St. Joseph, Missouri? New apartment leases in what kind of time frame?
Will the APFL's St. Joseph Storm players be recruited to become the St. Joseph/Lincoln yet-to-be-named-nickname?
Will the team retain their team colors?
Just curious.

The team will still be the Lincoln Capitols, but they will play in St. Joe for 2006.
The Caps will return to Lincoln in 2007 and St. Joe will get a new NIFL team then.
There will be a name-the-team contest throughout the season, and the winning name will be announced at the final home game.

Capitols Relocate South to St Joseph, MO

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to showcase the NIFL in St. Joseph a year early,” stated managing partner Jessica Jagerson. “My husband Chad and I are fans of the indoor [football] game, and we truly believe in the ‘fan-friendly’ style of football that the NIFL provides.”
In a decision handed down by the NIFL executive on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, the Lincoln Capitols will relocate to St Joseph, MO and will play the remainder of the season at the St. Joseph Civic Arena. The team will continue to play the 2006 season as the Capitols and will return to Lincoln in 2007.
Managing partners of the relocated Lincoln Capitols, Jessica and Chad Jagerson, will launch their own franchise in 2007 and said “We want all of St. Joseph to come out and be a part of this franchise, as we are going to let the fans select a name for their 2007 team. Throughout the 2006 season, we will collect ballots from fans during home games, and we will announce a name during our last home game.”
“The move is an encouraging one for the NIFL, as we look to continue our positive growth, positioning teams to minimize travel costs for the entire league,” stated League President, Carolyn Shiver. “This is a short term move, and we [the NIFL] will continue to expand into further areas such as: Kearney, Grand Island, Des Moines, Wichita and more, in the next one to two years. The NIFL is a strong league, offering affordable family entertainment, and I believe that we can find owners, ones that will be successful, in all the fore mentioned locations.”
The Capitols, who lost their two first games of the season, will play their home games at the 2,200 seat St. Joseph Civic Arena and will complete the schedule that Lincoln had began; with only minor changes. The Capitols schedule is tentatively set as:
April 10 Billings, MT
April 14 Fayetteville, AK
April 22 @ Billings, MT
April 28 @ Casper, WY
May 7 Rapid City Flying Aces
May 13 @ Big Sky Thunder
May 20 @ Tri-Cites, WA
May 31 Casper, WY
June 3 BYE
June 9 @ RiverCity, MO
June 17 Big Sky Thunder
June 23 @ Casper, WY
July 1 Tri-Cities, WA
Times will be added shortly. Dates and times are subject to change.
Season tickets, for the remaining six home games, are available through Ticketmaster.com – at a price of $50 to $70 each. Game day tickets are available for $11 to $20 each.
“We are determined on bringing a winner to St. Joseph,” stated Head Coach James Sanders. “Despite the first two games of the Capitols, we are going to turn things around, and get pointed in the right direction.”
For additional information, please contact managing partners Jessica & Chad Jagerson at 913.908.2084, or Coach James Sander at 816.213.8621.
But you do have a point, the best laid plans of mice and indoor football...

I like the line about the NIFL being encouraged...Encouraged that their Lincoln franchise flopped flat on its face???

Makes you wonder how many people will come out in St. Joseph to see the Lincoln Capitols versus (insert name here).
The least they could do is rename the team for St. Joseph. Then again, maybe Carolyn wants all the losses credited to Lincoln's docket.

Name them the St. Joseph Capitols.
I never got a response about whether the players will be entirely different. I can't picture guys in Nebraska uprooting to move to St. Joseph for $250 a game especially if they are family men...and that's if they'll even get paid regularly if at all.

One of the Lincoln players posted on the IndoorBowl.com boards and said the team is practicing in Lincoln. Oddly enough, he stated that not all the games will be played in St. Joseph, some will still be played in Lincoln. The soap opera continues......
