According to the Rapid City Flying Aces, this week's Rapid City at Lincoln game has been moved to Rapid City on Friday night.

And word also has it they won't be playing the Lincoln Capitols...
Well they lasted a long time, but the Capitols appear doomed.

Not enough operating/startup capital for the Lincoln team? We could not organize the league to detect this well before the season schedule was created?
If AF2 can do this, why can't the NIFL?
At least the WFL made it thru 14 out of 20 weeks before folding a team.
Truth can sometimes be stranger than fiction.
That would be the case here.

I'm tempted to find an email address on Lincoln's website and ask them what the deal is.
Maybe the players threw a temper tantrum and walked out on the owner because they aren't the least bit competitive. Does anyone know how many players for Lincoln dressed for the Rapid City game last week?
Or maybe the owner said to him/herself, forget this...I'm not going thru another year of this blowout crap, and told the players the team is folding.
This league is fun to talk about. Sort of like talking about Survivor or American Idol around the water cooler at work. It's a soap opera.
The students at various universities that have a Sports Administration program are probably having a field day with this league again this year. I'm sure there are more research papers about this league than you can shake a stick at.

Unfortunately, some believe that if something's stated, it's the truth.
It's the weather..........didn't you know?

The NIFL is adding some team named the St. Joe Storm after the season has already started? Is St. Joe a former UIF team booted out of the UIF a few days before the UIF season begins?
Where does that leave Lincoln? Is Lincoln history?
EDITED: St. Joe is an APFL team set to go in April. I wonder if this game will count in the NIFL standings for Rapid City, or will it be an exhibition game?

LOL the NIFL's spin is funny as always...If RC can't get out, how can "Lincoln" get in?

And the entire state of Nebraska received anywhere from 12" to 20" of snow too. Kind of fishy story unless Lincoln just stayed up there.

Considering they had a DB playing QB, WRs playing DBs, and DBs playing WRs, they couldn't of had more than 16-18 make the trip.

I think I read that 17 made the trip because that's all they had equipment for.
What a shame...Lincoln has a had a team for a long long time...It's awful that it has to end this way.

Ok, I just realized the NIFL website has just now issued an official statement that Lincoln is headed back to Rapid City.
I wondered about the same thing! RC can't get out, but Lincoln can get in? This sounds like Airplane the movie!
It's the same darn airport! How is this a better safety issue?!
I bet the league office is lying. I bet Lincoln doesn't have the proper arrangements to play the game at home...like rent money paid up from last year?!

I've talked to Pershing and they were VERY excited about having the game this week. They didn't know about the change until well after the "leak" on the internet message boards.
I'm not sure that Pershing had any idea that the team was making absolutely no effort to sell tickets or sponsorships for this season. There was no way to buy a ticket until Pershing was ready to sell them this week.
Just in case you were interested.

No plans to sell tickets beforehand? Hmmm that sounds suspicious to me like there is no committment to stay around...for an entire season? This team was relying on walkup ticket sales for each game?
Also, I re-read the NIFL snow situation in Rapid City. Sounds like Lincoln never went back home. Makes me wonder if this was done deliberately using a combined weather story and a delayed flight back excuse to save money, because the outlook of a decent crowd in Lincoln would be horrible after a 102-6 beating.
I also thought the players and coaches worked a second job. Makes me wonder how many employers in Lincoln are going to get ticked off about that?
They were delayed one day, they've been back in Lincoln since Tuesday. They drove up there, they drove back.

Ok, now can someone tell me the logic of how it's not safe for Rapid City to travel to Lincoln, but it's ok for Lincoln to travel to Rapid City? It would be the same highway drive except on the opposite lanes of the highway with virtually the same weather conditions, right?

My guess is there wasn't anything arranged for ticket sales, venue staff, setup/takedown of field, or agreement with pershing since the late start. Pershing is booked the 23rd, 24th all day, and 25th for various events.
However the rest of the Cap's home games are on Pershings schedule.
Pershing was ready for the game on their end. The field would've gone up today. The game WAS on Pershing's schedule, and if you contact Pershing they say that this weeks game was moved because of the weather issue, as it was relayed to them.
The rest of the games are still on Pershing's schedule.
What does that mean? I guess we'll find out.

The Flying Aces coach stated that Lincoln never got out of Rapid City and rather than having both teams risk travel with more bad weather on the way they agreed to play this weeks game in Rapid City. Snow was bad in Nebraska and even as of Tuesday some highways and part of I-80 were still closed. The Aces are running great specials for the game with $6 tickets and $1 specials on popcorn, hot dogs, soda, and beer.

I absolutely wish Rapid City the best, and hope all things turn out well for this revitalized franchise.
But I will tell you that the Lincoln players most certainly made it back to Lincoln. They did delay their return by one day, but they were back on Tuesday.
Coach Simpson has resigned due to lack of support from management, but it sounds like some of the players, if not all, will be back up that way for your game.
At least that's the latest I've heard.

So are you saying the Lincoln team is still in Rapid City? Someone else stated Lincoln is back home at this very moment.
