The 3/18/06 "headline" article entitled "NIFL Teams Return to Field for Second Week of Action" lists the NIFL teams and calls the Osceola team the Deputies. I was not sure if this was official or not.
The article states that the NIFL was formed when the IPFL and Intense Football League (IFL) combined with eight new teams. Actually, the NIFL was formed by some IPFL teams that broke away, some former Indoor Football League (IFL) markets, and some teams from the failed attempt to create the American Indoor Football League (AIFL). The IPFL disbanded the next year and some of the remaining teams moved to the NIFL.
