What's the latest from the Baja League? I see from their league website that they are still moving towards playing in 2006 but have no other substantial information as to whether this is feasible. What do readers think about the concept of an instructional league in the Fall for independent baseball? BTW, Bisbee (which is listed as a potential site) gets down to single digits at night during the late Fall which would make the event a potential for hypothermia, wouldn't it? Any other former major league names being bantered around for this venture now that Nate Colbert is on the DL?

My recommendation to the teams of the Baja League is to wait until 2007.
The Bisbee area is a good place to play but you are correct, it can get cold.
We were thinking of 4 or 5 PM games but as of November the team might have to finish out in Hermosillo or somewhere else. This idea might not fare well with the local fans but we thought we would introduce the possibiliy. Bishee High School plays its football games at the Warren BallPark so we might not even be able to pley there at all.
We have several former MLB players that would like to work on the field. Right now we are working on getting the communities geared up for baseball. Field managers and rosters will come once we secure the administrative part.
All can keep up with the league at www.baseballmaxx.com.
Thanks for the question!

[quote= I Have Polled Many People In Cities Where Summer Ball Is Extremely Hot Like Yuma, Mesa, Phoenix, And Palm Springs. People Like The Concept Of Fall Ball As The Temps Are 90-95 During The Day And 75-80 At Night, Or Perfect Baseball Weather. I Was In Palm Springs For A Meeting November 18th And The Weather Is What I Just Described. We Are Still Keeping Our Plans Close To The Vest As There Are People Out There That Would Like Us To Fail. The Board Of Director's Will Release More Info As We Get Closer To Our Goals. We Are Working On Other Cities As Well As Bisbee And Are 1 Team Away. Please Check Our Web Site From Time To Time For The Latest. Former Major League Players Are Interested! Thank You For Your Inquiries--------------jim Hayes, Gm/manager Palm Springs Desert Sharks
