Moving

Ok so what other UHL teams are going to be moving to the SPHL next year. We already know of one team thats a lock just wondering if any other teams will be moving also

With Richmond about 99% gone, it would just make sense for Roanoke to follow. They will be to the U what Youngstown is to the C, a team out in the middle of nowhere in relation to the rest of the league. I understand Ken Dixon was asked recently if the team would be back next season and his response was "I hope so". Not very reassuring is it? For the sake of the SPHL, if Roanoke does go to them, hopefully it will be with new owners. The Dixons did a bad job running the team when it was in Port Huron (I was a fan of the Beacons until Motor City joined the U). All indications are they have not improved since moving the team to Roanoke. The Vipers are the worst team in the league and they just had a fire sale at the trade deadline. If they are back in the U next year, they should be just as bad or worse. When the Dixons moved out of Port Huron, Kristen made sure everyone knew how little she thought of the area and much they lost on the team during the 3 season it was there because, in her words, "the area didn't support the team enough". It couldn't be beacuse they didn't market it enough or do anything else to draw in new blood. This season, I understand they didn't produce a game program, and didn't even print pocket schedules until near mid-season. Sounds like the same old, same old to me. The SPHL, UHL and hockey in general would be better off without them.

Well I am sure the SPHL would welcome them. I have heard that there might be a chance both teams would come over. It was stated for the same reason you gave. It would help out with the overall cost. If we were able to get both teams that would be so great. One more team with those two would give me the two divison that I hope for.
