In the news article, it says they had an indoor football team reserved.
I heard from one source that it was going to be af2.
But I heard from another that it was going to be UIF (which would make more sense)
WHICH LEAGUE ARE THEY PLAYING IN?

what source told you af2? I'm really interested (could they be tampering with markets again?)

Actually, I just checked the place I got it from, and the source (notmeanspirited from the ABA message board) said "either af2 or some other indoor football league."

I know somebody close to the situation.
It's UIF.
I don't know much about the league, what's the story there?

The UIF is probably the best organized indoor league right now. They are based in the Midwest and have ten teams, down one from last year which shows they don't try to overexpand and become the ABA of indoor football.

The UIF is probably one of the better run leagues, I would concur. It was basically formed from mostly disgruntled NIFL owners (and generally considered the more solid NIFL teams at the time - Fort Wayne, Omaha, etc), and a few af2 owners who didn't like how af2 was controlling the franchises, and the fees.
And the Sears Centre team will be UIF. af2 couldn't put a team there because it's too close to the Rush. I'd think the af2 would like to try to get into Rockford, and I'm sure they are saberrattling with that like they did in Fort Wayne.
And as far as "overexpanding", nobody should try to become the "ABA" of anything.
