"A bill introduced in the New Jersey Assembly would require websites to collect and make available the legal names and physical addresses of anyone posting on an Internet forum. The law aims to prevent "false or defamatory messages" from being protected by anonymity.

That's just a little absurd. There's already ways of tracking who posts where. No matter what, computers leave a papertrail of evidence. This 'law' would just make it easier for people who don't like what they read to raise gripes easier.

Besides, something about the right to privacy comes to mind.
