Well at least they seem to be going in the right direction as far as getting things going to play football

Another interesting thing is, despite being on the 2006 NIFL schedule, OSC still has Charlotte listed as an "expansion/inactive" team. It's going to be a hassel (albeit typical for the NIFL) if all the other teams have to shift their schedules because Charlotte ends up not playing. But then again, I'm confident that a few of these teams just aren't going to make it through the season. So, you're probably going to see a lot of schedule shifting this year, just like every other season in the NIFL.

The NIFL's 2006 standings have the Dayton Miracles listed in the Atlantic Conference North Division.

LOL! That was the original name the new owners were considering. I imagine the jokes and derision it received on the message boards helped them to rethink that one.... They're going with Bulldogs now.

Yeah I can bet they were going to get tons of crap over that name

It reminded me too much of the "Showme Believers", which, in my opinion, was the worst team name, ever.

The Charlotte Krunk, may the rest in ABA peace, wish to humbly disagree with you.

The Miracles is a WNBA-type name. What were the Dayton owners thinking? I'm glad they changed it to the Bulldogs.

Am I the only one who thinks Miracles isn't such a bad name? I've heard far worse. It's currently used by a minor league baseball team and now a basketball team as well.

Probably. I agree I have heard worse names, but that name just isn't really fit for the hard-hittin' action of indoor football.

Wow, let me get this straight..
Jacksonville Stallions have a web site http://www.jaxstallions.com
but are not playing or even listed on the NIFL Home Web Site as a team.
But Charlotte is listed as an active team, and it's first game is in less than 3 weeks, but has no web site, and no way to buy tickets, ect...
Now Miami is listed as having a team and it's first game is 3/19. The last update on it's web site was June of last year....
Then the Twin City Gators listed as playing but their web site does not work, oh yes and then there is the Charleston Sandsharks, they have a guy with a sledge hammer on the front page and he says come back later and maybe the web site will be ready (their first game is in month).
Rapid City Flying Aces web site says please come back soon and their first game is 3/19.....
Wow, hard to get information in this league.

I hope the Charlotte Fusion play, they better, they're supposed to open here in Kissimmee vs. the Osceola Outlaws on 3/9. I haven't found any info on Charlotte, I've been looking, I need to preview them. (And I wonder if Gillette or Ford have a problem with the Fusion name.)
Yes, you see OSCEOLA FOOTBALL on the website. The Kissimmee Kreatures became the Osceola Outlaws back on Nov. 19. Then Billings wanted to call themselves the Outlaws, and Osceola's GM and front office backlashed. Team lawyers advised them to revert to Osceola Football until they get this figured out. Notice that Billings now has no logo on the NIFL site or its own site, and I'm seeing references to the Billings Mavericks.
On the Jacksonville Stallions, from their website ... Jacksonville Stallions
We are very excited to announce that the Jacksonville Stallions will be joining the National Indoor Football League. The Stallions’ first season of 14 games will be in 2007 from March through July. For more information on the league and its 26 teams click here.
So you ready for another exciting season of As The NIFL Turns?

The NIFL once again has made a commitment to excellence in having a sharp looking website with consistent data.
Last year I called them out. I have my own website http://home.columbus.rr.com/cfrankings/nifl.html that ranks the NIFL teams. Part of the data checks I do is compare the data I enter in my computer and the standings I generate, with the standings the NIFL presents on their website. None of the PF (points for) and PA (points against) data was correct! The guy or gal doing the website must be grabbing numbers out of the air!
I offered my services to do that and I was promptly ignored. I made too much waves on the NIFL forum (now discontinued) with the webmaster there.

I followed the NIFL a little bit last year and was amazed how
it was run. How many teams quit before the season ended, or were
rumored to quit.
How many new teams are there this year?
How many teams that played last year are playing this year?
The league needs a new con-man like the Marshals had last year . . .
to spice things up . . . or are there already new ones?

Actually there's 24 teams set to go in the schedule. Whether all 24 finish their regular season schedule remains to be seen. Last year there were 22 teams with teams hanging it up before their regular season schedule was completed.
Can't see how anyone would extend credit to these teams. Would you send football uniforms or other equipment to these owners with a promise to pay you a month or so later or on some installment plan?
Can't see how anyone would buy season tickets or individual game tickets more than an hour before kickoff either.
When I go, I go with a backup plan just in case the trip to the arena falls thru: team suddenly folds, visiting fails to showup, or shows up late, etc. If there's a movie theatre nearby, I'll catch a movie in its place.
As far as planning a group function with 25+ people involved, you can forget that. Try explaining to a bunch of friends, family, work associates, church function members, etc. the money you've collected is gone because the team folded and won't be giving refunds for a game(s) you're never going to see. What if your friends expect you to pay them back? That would suck.

Im also wondering the same thing as well! Here in Charlotte, all we have seen is one article saying that Indoor Football Could Be Possible at Cricket Arena. Other than that, that is about it! I will have to call Cricket Arena offices and find out more since I have already emailed the league about this almost 2-3 weeks ago and still no reponse from them.

Players showed up for the tryout, but no coaches, owner, GM, or anyone from the team at all. I think we can consider this one DOA.

Charlotte and Hammond have now been completely removed from the schedule on the NIFL site. According to the site, Miami has decided to sit out the 2006 season and will be replaced by the Florida Frenzy. Coincidentally, both team logos use the same colors and style, and Ray Isaac is listed as the contact for each.

That means the Frenzy are using the Morays' assets (uniforms).

I'm from Charlotte (I can actually walk to Cricket Arena, where The Fusion were supposed to play) and the first I saw or heard of this team was on wikipedia.
I read the paper and watch local news everyday, and saw nothing.
There's a guy who writes for the Charlotte Observer who likes Minor Leagues and I'm sure if the owners would have given him a call/shot him an e-mail he would have mentioned the team.
This looks like another Carolina Sharks.
I wish these teams would stop telling Cricket Arena they're going to play there and then back out. I actually feel bad for the Krunk because I feel that their problems were beyond their control (but that's another topic). But the Fusion situation is just blah.

I believe I spotted the person responsible for that name on the corner of 12th Street & MLK Blvd in downtown Augusta selling crack. I am told they were responsible for the Charlotte Krunk as well.

I've been to Cricket many times to see the Lynx play the Checkers. I love that place! Do you know Steve DeCaro? He's a bro of mine with the Checkers.

If you're talking "Miracle," that was the former WNBA team in Orlando before it relocated to Uncasville, Connecticut and became the Connecticut Sun.
