Today it was announced that the flatline iihl has ordered the Soo Maverics to forfeit some games due to 'illegal' activity. Man, that's a case of the pot calling the kettle black if I ever saw one. Here's what Mr. Killbreath had to say. Once again I will try to translate Killbreath-ese into English for you guys, enjoy!

Soo City Mavericks Ordered to Forfeit Two Games
Man, a league that is on hiatus is still able to have forfeits? Killbreath is nothing if he isn't creative in his efforts to prove his lie that the iihl is still legitimately running.
The Soo City Mavericks of the International Independent Hockey League (IIHL) have been ordered to forfeit their last two games because of illegal players.
Illegal players, hmm like the new coach of the Ice Nuts? Is this league even labour certified?
A Jan. 2 press release from the IIHL office indicated that the team's Friday, Jan. 2 and Sunday, Jan. 4 home games against the Ohio Valley Ice Cats were cancelled because of the on-going roster problem for the Mavericks. IIHL rules require teams to use no more than 6 foreign-born players. The Mavericks have been using 14 Canadians while operating out of the Pullar Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
That sort of thing will happen when you refuse to pay your players or even give them uniforms...
Owner/GM Shane G.W. Kelly will be working with the IIHL's Director of Player Development to correct the problem, according to IIHL President Mike Killbreath.
Killbreath, who just happens to OWN THE TEAM! Your team, your problem Killbreath.
"We have assured officials from the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan that we are committed to keeping an IIHL franchise at the Pullar Center," Killbreath added. "Dan Wyers, the Parks & Recreation Director, and his staff have bent over backward to help there. We are excited by the potential there and we want the IIHL at the Pullar Center."
You aren't committed to anything but making a quick buck Killbreath. Your track record with every league you have formed, including this one proves that.
Oh by the way Killbreath, have you paid your arena bill at the Soo yet?
[qoute]Kelly took over ownership on Nov. 28 in time for the second pre-season training camp game by his hockey club. The original ownership group from Chicago had planned to establish a Canadian company in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and stage all of its practices there while staging 4 home games on the Canadian side of the border. The remaining home games were going to be staged at the Pullar Center on the Michigan side of the border.[/quote]
1) Putting team ownership in a player's name is sure convienient when the bill collectors come to call eh Killbreath?
2) Isn't it tough to have Americans playing on a Canadian based team if YOU DON'T BOTHER TO TRY TO GET VISAS FOR THEM AND VICE VERSA WITH THE CANADIAN PLAYERS TO PLAY IN THE U.S.???
Kelly kept Wyers and IIHL offiicals in the dark for more than a week about his plans after buying rights to a Lease Operating Agreement that allows him to direct an IIHL club. Kelly purchased Territory Rights to operate in either Soo City.
Looking for scapegoats again Mike 'ol boy? You own the team, give your employees nothing and them blame them when YOU fail. No wonder you have no credibility in the sport.
The Mavericks finally opened training camp on Dec. 8 at the Pullar Center. They made their IIHL debut with a 6-2 victory at Harbor Springs against the Northern Michigan Predators on Dec. 12. They have not won since, however, in slumping to a 1-7 record before ordered to foreit two more games.
Like Killbreath cares about their win/loss record. His favorite saying is, "if you want to win, go to the NHL and get out of my face."
IIHL rules require teams operating out of border cities to stage at least 51% of their practices on the Canadian side of the border and stage at least 4 home games there to use an all-Canadian lineup. Kelly has a contract for all of his home dates at the Pullar Center and received a discount from the Sault Ste. Marie City Council to buy practice ice there at only $45 hourly.
Kinda tough to do that when you refuse to get anyone work visas. Does Killbreath have any idea what he is doing and what he is asking of his volunteers, ERR employees?
"Operating in Michigan clearly makes the Soo City Mavericks a team that can use no more than 6 Canadian or European players," Killbreath stressed. "If the Mavericks can't follow the rules, they can't play. Period."
Translation: DAMN I contridicted myself. I expect my team to be a Canadian AND American team but won't allow them to have working visas on EITHER side of the boarder and expect them to play "professional" games illegally on both sides. Then I punish MY OWN TEAM when they do what I told them to do and it goes wrong.
Mike Killbreath is blaming everyone but himself, using players as pawns to get them to go down for his many, MANY offences. This league is not even a joke anymore because a joke is supposed to be funny. This is now a tragity.
