I am going to pick out some interesting quotes from the article about the NIFL meetings:

"With our sixth year approaching," says Shiver, "the NIFL has proven beyond doubt that it is a league of stability, and ready to take on the exciting challenge of new growth. The owners of the expansion teams are dedicated, proven business men and women who have embraced our league, and are geared up to provide fast paced indoor football and family entertainment to their respective areas. I know I speak for everyone when I say we're pleased to have them on board."

We've adjusted our operations structure when necessary, most recently appointing an executive committee comprised of elected representatives from each division to take over the day-to-day business of the league. Each of the 26 franchise teams that begin play in March will be competitive, financially sound, and have a focused leadership base. Our fan base, nationwide, is solid and growing. I'm excited about 2006!"

Four other franchise sites will be listed in the near future, pending confirmation of individual team corporate structure.

Alright let's review:

The league is not stable. In fact, no minor indoor/arena league is that stable. But CS of ALL PEOPLE has the least room to talk...

The owners are proven businessmen and women? Yeah...CSM has proven they can ruin a team faster than Road Runner can escape Wile E. Coyote....

Not all of the 26 franchises will be financially sound..That's a guarantee.

FOUR MORE FRANCHISES?!?! THE SEASON STARTS IN LIKE 70 DAYS!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!

Come on NIFL...PLEASE get your act together soon...

19. Tennessee
20. Tri-Cities
21. West Palm Beach
22. Wyoming

Now, West Palm Beach was not named in the release, so we have to assume that's one of the four to be officially announced yet. So there's three more that we don't know about, which would make 25. This could have been written before Lubbock withdrew.

I think you can also remove New Jersey.

One of the four new teams will be the Charleston (SC) Sand Sharks. They will play their home games in the North Charleston Coliseum. We are the former home of the AF2 Charleston Swamp Foxes.
