I was forwarded this message from a user who wrote the NFL and asked if they still have a relationship with the NIFL. Here's the response, "...we previously had a relationship with the NIFL. However, our officiating department has informed me that we did not continue that relationship this season. We no longer have a relationship with them."

OurSports Central has confirmed the message with the NFL.

Then the league may want to take the NFL logo off its web page. The NFL takes a dim view of unauthroized use of its logo and they have lawyers they can afford to pay.
I'm sure the NIFL wants to maintain the look of a relationship as long as it can to make it look legitimate, but it does so with severe risks. (Besides, if the $77,000 in back pay to refs that some posters refer to is correct, the NIFL may already be in jeopardy of lawsuit.)

I know that this board, like all others has privacy issues, however, as someone involved with the NIFL, I'm sure the League would like to see a copy of that letter so that this issue may be properly addressed; between the parties (NFL and NIFL), and not on message boards with speculation, rumor, and incomplete information. The League address is on the NIFL website and a copy of this letter form the NLF would, I'm sure be greatly appreciated.

There was no letter. We received an email from a user who had written the NFL to ask if the NIFL had a working relationship with them for the coming season. The user forwarded the response from the nfl.com address. OurSports Central called the main NFL number in New York, asked to speak to the same person who replied to our user's query, and he confirmed the message that the NFL no longer has a relationship with the NIFL.

It may be all you have to go on, but you certainly cannot represent it as fact.

In case you are misunderstanding, I picked up the telephone, dialed the NFL number in NY and asked to speak with the NFL contact provided in an email I received. I spoke with this person, an NFL employee, and he confirmed that he had sent out an email, in response to a question he received, that stated the NFL no longer has a relationship with the NIFL. He further confirmed the content of the email to be true. If you have facts to prove he's wrong, let's hear them, but it came directly from an NFL employee.

No Paul, I think you're misunderstanding. Just because the big NFL says there's no partnership, doesn't mean the little NIFL can't still fake one.

LMAO!!

ATR doesn't have facts-he's too busy chugging the magic Kool-Ade and toeing the company line.
