I'm guessing this team folded as fast as it was announced, but does anyone know what's going on here?
Was that the team in Monroe?
While we haven't seen anything on them for sometime, I believe they're planning on playing. The league does have them in their plans for this season from what I hear.

Yes, that's the Monroe team. I haven't seen anything on them in months, but I know you have some good sources, fwp.

If they're in trouble, the league might prop them up due to the IFL lawsuit.

LOL! Yeah, but who knows? Things can change from day to day across these leagues. The offseason is always interesting.
I thought Jacksonville would be playing this year, and we see where that is now.
At least for today!

The Montgomery Maulers just released their schedule and they open on the road against...Monroe. So it appears Monroe will have a team but just haven't announced it yet. To the NIFL's defense, I don't remember the league ever officially announcing the team. The team owner came out in the local paper, but the NIFL hasn't said anything yet, so it's not as if they put them up and took them down.

The owner is Bell South telephone rep/agining football player who thought that he didn't get a fare shake in playing for Shreveport-Bossier, AF2.
Decided one day, "I can own a team with a $10,000" investment then sell shares of the team to others for $250,000 a pop to multiple people!!!!
Supposedly they have a chiropractor that wants to pony up that much (I wouldn't want this clown cracking my back) but I'll believe when I see it. Basically they are banking that season ticket sales and sponsorship will help them limp through a season - without any advertising!!!
Also, since it has taken so long to get the funding together the city has raised the price on rental costs for the Civic Center - props to them for doing homework on this shady, color by numbers operation. Doubt they will play, hopefully for the leagues sake this team will fold in time to redo the schedule.
Don't even get me started on the ill fated Hammond Heroes.

Well the Fayetteville Guard released their schedule today too and it has the Jacksonville team as their opening game and a Charlotte team I have not seen anything about. So looks like another team who has this schedule but not at the teams on it will be in the league this year

Great post, Guard Fan. Sounds as if the schedules aren't set in stone yet, and some teams may be releasing prematurely. Monroe might not be a done deal.

Hopefully something solid will take place soon. Hard to really promote teams like this
I see that the Twin City Gators logo is now up on the NIFL site.

Yet they STILL have San Angelo & Southwest Louisiana listed on their team roster.
Go figure...

They look nice!
Although it's not linked on the NIFL site, the Gators do have a website now.

Hope they paid Queen's recording studio royalties for using that song...
