I just heard on Headline News this morning that an organization (can't remember who it was, might have been undisclosed) offered a 30 Million dollar Scholorship deal for both LSU and USC if they where too play a game between each other too determine an actual National Champion. Apparently though, the NCAA got word of it and told the organization that it could not do this. I'm really starting get pissed off at the NCAA anymore. Granted, I can understand that their is a lot of Tradition and Money involved with these Bowl games, but a seperate group was willing too help out this situation by offering their own money too sponser an actual championship game between both schools, yet the NCAA stoped this from ever happening. Maybe this group couldn't back up its claim, but at least its a possibility that NCAA could use.

I actually would like too see a situation like this for the future. You could still keep the Bowl game system and even the BCS, just have an Actual National Championship after all the Bowl games are done. You could have the Number 1 BCS team go against the Number one AP/Coaches poll team in the game. If both BCS and AP/Coaches Poll teams are the same, then that team would automatically win the National Championship. Granted, still a clumsy system, but would solve many issues.

The best solution I have heard though, is too actually have a Mini play off system with the BCS. You would still have your bowl game system with the BCS in charge, but the teams ranked 1 through 4 in the country who won their bowl games advance to an actual National Championship bowl game a week later. For example, this year would have had LSU #2 (winning over #1 Oklahoma) go against USC #4 (who won against Michigan #3). Now the Bowl game system in place (especially the BCS bowls) would not like this idea at all, but that can be solved aswell. Each Year ahead of time, just rotate the BCS bowls On who gets too host #1 versus #2/#3 versus #4 and who hosts the Actual National Championship game. They already do this anyways with the BCS system in places. Now this would not completely eliminate the contraversy on who makes the #4 seed, but at least the National Championship game would be decided by the coaches and players on the feild and not by a computer.
