The Baja League website is no longer there. What has happened to Bob Lipp's latest venture and the future of poor Nate Colbert? Will there ever be independent pro baseball in the Fall?

We upgraded our service at Yahoo and it caused a few problems with our FTP and DNS.

The league website is up at www.baseballmaxx.com

Nate Colbert was involved in a big truck accident in Utah last month and is doing okay. But he is recovering slowly and the league wishes him the best.

The Baja League is an instructional league that is targeting graduating college seniors.

We have several other former MLB players that will be on the field and/or in the front office.

Team memberships have been awarded but an "active" status will not be awarded until a team/membership secures their entire yearly operating budget.

Can we have a minimum of six active memberships within the next several months? From what I have seen in the cities that I have visited I would say yes. But, it will take a cumulative effort from many people for this to fall into place.

As I have reported to the Board, I can have one team in the league and will help. But, with my two businesses in Kansas, and my work in Arizona, I cannot contribute full-time to the league.

The person who is the driving force behind this is Jim Hayes. He has and continues to do so much of the legwork.

Thanks for the update, Bob. Please keep us posted. Our best wishes go out to Nate Colbert in his recovery. His name alone brings back great memories of San Diego baseball.
