There are 2 teams in the NIFL called the Outlaws. Which one should stay the Outlaws?

Both, as long as they survive.

Really, its not a problem-the AHL has Admirals, the SEC has Tigers, the CFL had Rough Riders.

Should I mention that the SEC has two Bulldogs (Georgia and Mississippi State), the Atlantic 10 has two Rams (Fordham and Rhode Island), the WAC has two Bulldogs (Fresno State and Louisiana Tech) and two Aggies (New Mexico State and Utah State)-you get the idea. You have a point. It's not a problem.

Even less of a problem since Billings and Osceola meetings should be extremely rare.

The CFL had two Roughriders for years- Ottawa and Saskatchewan.

I guess I'm in the minority, I think it's stupid for 2 teams in the same league to have the same nickname. Let Osceola keep it, since when they came in Billings was still the Mavericks.

Okay a nitpick, but the CFL had the Rough Riders and the Roughriders. I understand your point, but I think whatever helps the local teams is the best decision to make. I agree that ideally you wouldn't have any repeated nicknames within the same league, but Outlaws still carries some weight in Billings, and it makes no sense for the Osceola team to change now. In this instance, I can see doubling up.

I'm with Paul, I have no problem with both teams being called the Outlaws.

Billings should be the Outlaws. They were the Outlaws for a number of NIFL years, including their run to the NIFL championship game against Ohio Valley. They just didn't seem quite the same as the Mavericks. With Everett changing leagues, we may see a few former Outlaws returning to Billings, as well.

Although I may have been one of the few people in the country that liked the Kissimmee Kreature name, and the fact that they dared to wear different colors, that team had damaged it's name though.

It sounds like both teams have solid ownership groups that want their teams to succeed in their cities and areas.

Sometimes leagues get too carried away worrying about little things like this. I'm sure both teams will have very different identities from each other. It'll be interesting to see each teams spin on the Outlaw theme. I expect success from both organizations. Hopefully their communities embrace them.

Anyone notice that the Osceola Outlaws dumped Mike Damico as GM? He was part of the original CSM dissaster and I guess his name didn't lend a lot of credibility to the new franchise. Not to mention the fact that the man openly admits he knows nothing about sports.

I wish the new Osceola Outlaws and Marquette Smith all the best. Make a fresh start and make it work.

Good riddance to the CSM's of the world
