European Work

In what may be considered a novel concept, Parcells said there is a good chance they will send offensive quality control coach David Lee to Europe to keep an eye on quarterback Chad Hutchinson, who will be assigned to play in NFL Europe this spring by the Cowboys. While the Cowboys want Hutchinson to gain experience playing at any level, they aren't as willing to just turn him loose.

Lee, a former head coach at UTEP, has been a long-time quarterbacks coach during his college coaching career, and in his first year with the Cowboys worked closely with the quarterback, helping a great deal with mechanics.

There also is a chance Lee will have two guys to keep an eye on if the Cowboys decide to send rookie quarterback Tony Romo overseas, too. Parcells, though, seemed a little reluctant to send Romo to Europe since he's never had an opportunity to go through an off-season program in the NFL. At this point of the young quarterback's development, Parcells seems to think that is more important.

"If I send him over there, I might be setting him up for failure," Parcells said.
