The majority owner seems to understand where some of the REAL money is--parking and concessions. However, I wonder about an owner who proclaims to have deep pockets. Shouldn't he let someone else make that judgement?

The franchise is in the state of Washington. not in DC.

CBA schedules should be out soon according to this article:
http://www.mlive.com/news/muchronicle/index.ssf?/base/news-4/1087397113274700.xml
There are certain little things people say that speak volumes about themselves. The majority owner of the Bellevue Nighthawks once bragged about having deep pockets. This franchise has the ABA in its future for sure. The deep pockets proclamation should be filed with:
"All we need to do is average 3,000-5,000 fans per night to break even".
"We moved to the Salt Lake Valley of Utah because of geographic concerns".
...and my all-time favorite...
"If we can't find an arena, then we will build one ourselves".
Has the BELLEUVE FRANCHISE been revoked? I could not
find it listed on the CBAS website.

In "certifying" the Muskegon franchise, the press release states that the Michigan Mayhem makes the CBA an 8-team league.
That's some pretty handwriting on the wall, isn't it?
Of course, I'm surprised Flint is still there, but that's another issue.

I would be surprised also that Flint (now Great Lakes) would still be in the league had Chris Webber not purchased a share of the team during last season. When C. Webb came in the door, poor (or just plain nonexistent) management seemed to go out the door. Great Lakes even had a few sellouts after Chris Webber bought into the team.
If C. Webb does not lose interest in being a CBA franchise owner, then I see his involvement as being one of those little things that speaks volumes--in a positive manner. The CBA could use some stability.

This is what I said when Bellevue, Washington was still trying to become a CBA franchise:
There are certain little things people say that speak volumes about themselves. The majority owner of the Bellevue Nighthawks once bragged about having deep pockets. This franchise has the ABA in its future for sure.
This is what was said in an ABA press release:

I guess I was right. This same guy, Michael Tuckman, has joined the ABA with his franchise. I also guess it doesn't matter to the ABA that the CBA already rejected him earlier this year.

Seems there's a bite, and the name Tuckman is right there...

Ah, found the article I originally saw that actually mentioned CBA...
http://www.theolympian.com/home/news/20040807/topstories/115790_ARC.shtml
Olympia is 60 miles "south" of Seattle on I-5, 30 or so miles from Tacoma, growing rather rapidly itself (2000 census: 207,000 in Thurston County, 28.6% growth from 1990, 42,500 in Olympia itself). Quite pretty, actually. Home to the CBA and (rumored on WHL boards) ECHL? Errrr, um, hmmmmm...
Now, it's either bad journalism or twisted tongue citing CBA here, and I find it interesting that Tuckman is supposedly flinging $30 million around if $15 million is dispensed from a PFD allocation Thurston County is about to issue (yet says there's no public funding required)... though it should also be said that Bellevue is definitely in the high rent district compared to Olympia, meaning $30 million wouldn't go quite as far there. Still, it's only right to allow natural suspicion to take root here.

The new IBL has Olympia and Tacoma listed as potential franchise locations for its spring/summer 2005 season.

THe site is still active and looks as though they need to change logos so people know what league they are in.

This guy has been jumping the gun since day one. He announced Bellevue would enter the CBA long before the league confirmed the announcement...and now we know why. He was ultimately rejected. He also told the local media (or led the local media to believe) that Bellevue was an established CBA team last season. Bellevue has never been an official CBA team. The website simply adds to the deception.
