Literally....Cincinnati Commandos 104 - Huntington 12. That is NOT a typo. Cincinnati totally punished the Hammer....errrrr...Wildkatz. Huntington was horrific.

Erie beat a team 138-0 last year. 104-12 isn't as impressive as you think.

You can't have a "team of the century" in a league that is totally bush.
Anyone who didn't see this type of punchline. When the joke of a UIFL "rebranded" and added travel teams; hasn't been around indoor football for very long.

2012 looks to be the year of the travel team blow out.

It's SIFL-ishious!
League records defined by replacement teams because real teams couldn't be located.
-----------------
Sheehan Throws for 10 Touchdowns in 104-12 Win
March 24, 2012 - United Indoor Football League (UIFL) Cincinnati Commandos
Cincinnati quarterback Tyler Sheehan threw for a UIFL and franchise record 10 touchdowns as the Commandos defeated Huntington Saturday, 104-12, at the Cincinnati Gardens. It was the most points scored in a UIFL and Commandos history. The previous UIFL record of 88 was set Friday by Erie.
-----------------
You're right coach, it looks like the year. I guess the new goal is to set a new record every week. Have any any Pop Warner teams been sched yet?

In the AIF, the Cape Fear Heroes beat the MD Reaper 92-20....and Maryland isn't a travel team.
The Richmond Raiders kept it close, 70-42 against the upstart Knoxville Nighthawks.
I think we're going to see a much greater percentage of blow outs this season across ALL of the leagues.

Are you seriously happy about that score?
Yes, the 2,000 or so people who were there were very happy about that score.
I get that 104-12 scores aren’t the greatest, but in this case, 104-12 will serve the Cincinnati market better than 66-12 would have. It’s something to sell, and more importantly for other people to sell to their friends and get more people to the next game. And unlike blowouts against Indy and Chicago from last year, the fans were very much into this game the whole way, including the fourth quarter.
I was worried this game and the next one (Sting at home April 7) would hurt attendance, but from the reaction tonight, I’ll be disappointed if there aren’t more people at that April 7 game to see if they can do it again. Then, fortunately, they get back to competitive football, with two homes games against their rival, Marion, and what should be a really good home game against Erie (they do have one other home game with Rome remaining as well).
If the schedule was full of Huntington and Western PA the rest of the way, yes, that would get old fast and be bad. But with good football on the way, I think tonight will work out in the Commandos favor in terms of building their fan base.

I don't see how anyone can enjoy that. Even if your team is on the winning end it gets old fast. You shouldn't have to pay to watch such ill-matched teams. It just embarrasses the league itself.

How does this game even count? The Hammer are not listed on the UIFL website...so does Cincinnati get credit for a win against a non-league team?
Huntington folded in late January after the league was sold by Cecil Van Dyke and Assured Equities IV, back to Andrew Hines and Michael Taylor. Five other teams folded - Canton Cougars, Carolina Aviators, Danville Dragons, Tennessee Rail Runners, and Kentucky Monsters - reducing the number of teams in the league from 16 to 10.

Huntington was brought back as a travel-only team Aaronhere, they just do a terrible job of updating their website.
If people want a Harlem Globetrotter sideshow act for a team, then good for them. I'm with Caballo, these games hurt the sport and are nothing I want to see. It's been proven in the past that attendance drops after many of these games (Wyoming's fan base was destroyed from these types of games and so far hasn't recovered), so I'd be surprised to see attendance rise in the long run.

It was enjoyable/fun because the players kept the fans in the game. Their touchdown celebrations were fun and sometime hilarious. The OC came into our section and told us the play that was called and who would catch the TD pass (and it happened). From a pure Cincinnati Commandos overall team perspective, it was the best job they did. $1 beer, $1 hotdogs, lots of giveaways, keeping the fans interested. It was entertaining.

It was the triple digits that got them excited. I'm sure between 66-6 and the 104-12 or so it was pretty slow and boring.

It's a shame because Erie, Cincinnati and Marion are quality programs and really need to leave that joke of a league. I also love Haines and Lorenzen's blogs...oh wait, they don't exist any longer. Those 3 teams should package up and all go to the IFL as long as the IFL understands that their league isn't worth the buy-in price of $100k - especially, in my opinion, when your commissioner jumps to own a league team. That doesn't sit too well with me or doesn't smell very nice - not when that team is also involved with questionable salary cap issues. But I do think adding those three franchises would be a nice addition to the IFL - competition wise - as well as a nice benefit for the Reading and Lehigh Valley teams, that would make travel a bit easier on them and their budgets.
I compare the indoor football world to the martial arts world. I know this may sound a bit odd, but just as in the martial arts community anyone can open up a dojo or school - all saying they are and their style is the best. Like most schools, the indoor leagues are lead by the same kind of people. Master manipulators and deceivers. Shame when good people get scammed. Feel bad for the real ownerships groups and the true fans out there. Just horrible.

I’ve posted this before for a perfect league:
East: Erie, Johnstown, Canton & Wheeling
South: Cincy, EKY, Huntington & Dayton
North: Marion, Toledo, Pt. Huron & Saginaw
West: Ft. Wayne, Indy, Evansville & South Bend
At the minimum, the following current franchises should get together:
Erie, Johnstown, Cincy, EKY, Dayton, Marion, Pt. Huron, Saginaw, Evansville

Ive seen my share of blowouts while i was in Reading and can say for me it was boring. But I also understand its all personal preference too. I found myself leaving at or before halftime. Was no point in watching the inevitiable.

I doubt that the Erie Xplosion will go to the IFL, they will go to the CIFL before they do that. Liotta has made it clear in multiple interviews and to multiple others he has no interests in coaching in the IFL, he hates the style of game play. Not saying they will do it but its unlikely. As for Cincinatti and Marion I am sure they could compete with a number of teams in the IFL but with the expanded cost for travel, and the fact the running cost is like 450k which is like twice what they are paying now. I just really doubt they are able to make this jump at this time. They would be be more suited to go to the CIFL or see if they might be able to fit in with the PIFL.

Not so fast on Port Huron, I don't think things are all fine and dandy in Patriotland. Attendance appears to be an issue, multiple players have left the team, and ownership has made some ominous statements (http://www.thetimesherald.com/article/20120323/SPORTS03/303230010/Football-Port-Huron-Patriots-face-Evansville-Rage-critical-showdown) about the team and its current situation.

I was under the impression that the ownership was stable (for indoor football) but the fans are slow to come back after getting burned. If you get Erie, Cincy and Marion coming to town, I think that they would get the numbers back.

If you're waiting for a press release from the UIFL, it will never come. You can get the info from their forums though.
I agree, AIF's website is probably the worst of the indoor leagues as far as information goes.
