Highlights: Muncie is out. Chicago Vipers are in. Evansville Rage set to join league in 2013 but will play exhibition games in 2012.

Current 5 teams for 2012 are: Chicago Vipers, Dayton Silverbacks, Indianapolis Enforcers, Port Huron Patriots, Saginaw Sting.

One more team is apparently on board but not ready to be announced yet.

why dont they just bring evansville in know? If they do i think the 3 best teams in 2012 would be saginaw, port huron and evansville. Be nice to have 3 solid teams in the cifl for a change. Wanna see dayton-evansville wont be much fun for dayton though.LOL. They really screwed up there head coach selection. From what ive heard about evansville coach he would love to show dayton they picked the wrong guy. Thats just what im told by some players that know him, so i could be wrong.

The two best teams would probably be Saginaw and Port Huron (historically, PH has put together very strong rosters). Everyone else would be merely cannon fodder for those two.

From what i hear evansville has some very good players lined up

Until they prove it by actually showing anyone who they are (and anonymous comments from their front office aren't really going to do that), they're just another team that'll be splattered by the better teams on their schedule.

Players are great, but unless the team ownership has everything ready to go, rushing a debut does no one any good.

Agreed hopefully they are not rushing it,we will see? Originally from evansville now in chicago, i have more confidence that evansville has it going right then another chicago team in the cifl. If port hurons ownership is good i think they will be supported. Worry about Indy and chicago big time. But at least morris or haines isnt involved with this league.

We are getting everything lined up. I can promise you one thing Preeths, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in evansville will atlas know about the Rage. We have been mentioned on News 14 (Local NBC) a couple of times. The signing keep coming in left and right. But you can have the greatest players in the world but with out a front office with their head on straight it will go no where (To many teams name.) If anyone has any questions DM or post on this board. I frequent this board throughout the day.

Heres my question, how did you pull off getting the coach you got? I know he had some offers from established teams and i know there are teams still after him. Looking on your facebook at who you signed you guys and saginaw will probably be the 2 best teams. Has he actually signed a contract? Make sure he has or you could lose him. I know of a AIF team that is ready to offer him a substantial amount of money, hopefully you really have him and those players signed. If every thing is legit it looks like you are on the right track. We will see.

Ugh, major pet peeve right here-- but if you are going to come represent a team on a fourm like this, the least you can do is utilize proper spelling. Can't speak for others, but I find it extremely difficult to take somebody serious when they're trying to tell me how professional and "different" they are when their postings are full of typos.

Sorry for the typos. I do most of my postings from my iPhone since my work does not allow me to go to any sports sites. I cannot stand spelling and grammar errors as well.

To answer the other question, we do have him under contract. He is a "local" , from Indiana. The reason we were so lucky to get a GREAT coach is because everyone in this organization does not B.S. on another. We all want this to succeed, all of our members have minor league experience.

We are continuing to attempt to find a more permant home. The metro sports center will work for a season but we recognize that it won't due for much longer. We will be a contender for the championship this season.

who cares about spelling errors on a message board? Living in chicago, hopefully the vipers arent a redo of the knights!!!! I can go watch 2 different teams if they are. I know a lot of players and they tell me that there are some really good players contacting evansville just to play for your coach. I believe the only other team with a coach who has proven himself in the indoor game is saginaw. Anybody know who chicagos coach is?

Hope they don't mind playing for free - unless ownership has cash to burn, playing in a "500" seat soccer dome isn't going to generate nearly enough revenue to pay anyone.

from what i hear they r playing for free. coach has arena 1 connections is what a player that signed with them told me. he said they are offering free housing and a job. The jobs better than pay because a lot of the teams offer money but dont actually pay.LOL.

When average fan Joe Blow is making a post, proper English isn't as important, you're right. But when somebody that is officially representing a team is making a post, attention to detail like that is huge-- it goes a long way in helping to cement a positive, professional image of the team you are representing.

from what i hear they r playing for free.

So you're going to get local guys who want to play with nothing better to do, e.g. semipro guys. Might compete in the CIFL, but they won't be league favorites.

I can't speak to the contract terms, but the talent of the team is far. Is far beyond that of a semipro team. A few of our last signings have played for the bluecats. Our QB played for the Bricktown brawlers last year.

We will be the class of the CIFL

Class of the CIFL for 2012 will most likely be Saginaw first and Port Huron second. Good news is 4 teams out of 6 make the playoffs and you have a fair shot at doing that.

So a few guys that are a few years older after playing for a 5-10 UIF team in 2007...and a guy who played for an IFL team that went 2-12 and didn't pay its players. Color me a bit skeptical of the team's championship aspirations.

agreed exit, a few older bluecats does not make for a championship. commando678 if you r not a player or coach it may be time to quit predicting things. How does a social media director control what happens on the field? The signings they have made are better than ive seen from anyother CIFL team. Realistically I think they can possibly make the playoffs this year, just based on there coach. If they ever get the ford center everybody better watch out!!! A beautiful arena with a coach players wanna play for, if this were to happen i believe they would be off the hook for years to come. But seriously commando678 go take some english classes if u are a social media director.LOL.

Give him a break guys.

He's excited about being involved with the team.. besides what's he supposed to say? That he thinks the Rage will be average or that they'll be crappy this year?

At least they're working on getting the word out..

And yeah if they do get the Ford Center it'll be a huge get for them.. doesn't that venue charge the IceMen over $10,000/game? At least we'll know their owner is serious.. Not sure why they put it on their website under "Possible Home Field" though.. never seen that done before..

Its possible because the ice man have an exclusive deal until 2013, no other sports teams can play there until 2013(Pro teams). thats y its listed as possible, i think.y dont they play at swonder this year?

Well I suppose they could play at Swonder, so long as they had no plans to remain a Central Hockey League team..

They CHL only allowed a 1 year exemption for the IceMen to play at Swonder because Geary and the CHL both correctly believed that the IceMen had the inside track to get the lease at the new arena..

They were referencing the Rage playing at Swonder. Ceiling would be low, but it'd be better than playing at a soccer dome that might hold 200.

Someone said that we would only get local guys from semipro. We have a former NFL player in Levron Williams. I was speaking to having better talent than a semipro team.

I do believe we will be in the championship this year. Everyone is focused, we are not rushing into anything. I would rather play in a soccer complex this year and have the Rage around for a long time. Instead of having an owner who over pays to play in an expensive arena just because it is flashy.
Look where the Wisconsin Wolfpack played and they seemed to do just fine.

At least we have a presence on this board. Many teams ignore the fan forums. I am trying to keep an open dialogue with fans. Whether your fans of indoor or a fan of the rage.

Most indoor teams have guys who were on an NFL training camp or two; I wouldn't get all that excited about that. He also played semi-pro ball in and around the area. It's a bit more important for the Rage that he has played indoor ball before than he was at camp once.

He can catch, that helps. But his presence doesn't make the team a contender just because he was in the NFL for a cup of coffee. Most teams have those kinds of guys, given there's a few hundred a year that get churned through.
