Golden happenings

Is anyone else confused about what the Golden League is up to this offseason? It's not as high profile as all the AA/NoL/CBL stuff, but I have questions. Has the league made any decisions on it's Phoenix teams or the Samauri? Does anybody know why the Long Beach GM left? Doesn't it seem like the GBL has gone through a bunch of GM's this year? Does anyone have info?

So far the only thing I have seen is the addition of the Reno Silver Sox for 2006. No word yet if they are replacing the Samurai team or the Surprise team.

I live in Peoria (near Surprise), and I just heard from a team sponsor that the Falcons won't play in '06. It looks like Phoenix is out of the GBL completely. Does anyone have details? :evil:

We've got a Yahoo group for GBL discussion if anyone's interested.

It's really the second such group, but the GBL shut down the first one. Initially a Yahoo group was created and even linked to the main GBL site, but I guess the GBL didn't like something that was said - so the link disappeared. Since late August there had been a discussion going on about Mesa possibly going away and Reno getting a team (Silver Sox). Evidently the league didn't like that and whoever created the league deleted it.

Ridiculous.

It's like the leagues doesn't want the fans to know what's happening.

This second group was started by a fan, for the fans. It's not going away.
