I think we are really missing a great league in the Carolinas Basketball League. I am wondering if the league will return in 2006. If it does here is a suggestion for a strong Acc alumni backed league complete with alumni an local school affilations.

Raleigh North Carolina-nc state, unc-GREENSBORO,hIGHPOINT

DURHAM NORTH CAROLINA-DUKE,WAKE FOREST,JOHNSON C SMITH

DANVILLE VIRGINIA WILLAM AND MARY VIRGINIA UNION VIRGINIA

NORFOLK VIRGINIA - OLD DOMINION VIRGINIA TECH RICHMOND

THE IDEA IS TO HAVE TEAMS PICK FROM THESE ALLOCATED SCHOOLS AND STOCK THEIR ROSTERS WITH AREA TALENT TO CREATE MORE OF AN INTEREST IN THE LEAGUE AND BECAUSE THEY ARE CLOSE TOGETHER THERE WOULD BE LESS TRAVEL TIME,THINK ABOUT IT JOHN IT WOULD BE A GREAT LEAGUE.

Thats the best concept for a league I have heard in a while to be honest. Restoring old rivalries. The local fans would love it and the talent would be good. Not NBA quality for the most part but good. Good idea.

I can't look at this without thinking about stuff I've heard said, like...

"Why should I watch former schoolers play when I can watch the CURRENT school team play?"

I've noticed how minor league teams tend to avoid siting in college towns. I don't think that's an accident.
