This is from Mr. Newman when I asked about the money the ABA would donate...

TJ. Thanks for the email. I hope the NBA accepts. Don't know.
The ABA and its teams have on-going donation programs and will throughout the season. We have been making contributions every week since the hurricanes and will continue to do so - with donations to the American Red Cross. We will not do it in the $50,000 form if this particular game is not played. But we will continue to help. Thanks for the interest.

Joe Newman
ABA CEO

Mr. Newman,
I have seen in a few places that the game with the NBA probably cant be played, because of NBA camps and the players association rules. If the game isn't played, is the ABA still going to give the $50,000.00 it was going to use for the game? Who will you give the money to (Red Cross?)?

You see, Joe couldn't donate the $50,000 on behalf of the ABA because Joe doesn't have $50,000. The $50,000 would come from various sponsors, promotions and TV/radio deals that Joe would cook up once the NBA said "yes". I guess he could always donate $50,000 in RWB basketballs.
