Quick traduction:

After some good crowds, despite some bad weather Saturday and Sunday, competition from the Montréal Grand Prix and other close by popular events, in the series pitting the Rockland Boulders and the Québec Capitales, Richard Ross declared that he would go forward with his plan to bring a second Can-Am League franchise to the province of Québec. His associate, Bernard Lapointe, and himself think that a franchise in Trois Rivières could be viable.

The project is still in the planning stages, and Ross said that they are still looking for a third investor, But they think that the Trois-Rivières Royaux could possibly begin play in the 2012 season.

It would cut traveling costs for all the teams and make that long bus trip up north worthwhile.

The first player they would probably sign would be Eddie Lantigua... even at 38 next year, a name that could sell a few tickets. He's having a hard time keeping in shape this year and it shows on defense but he can still hit it a long way if the pitcher makes a mistake!

I'm sure it would make it more worthwhile for teams to come up north and play two teams but not so sure it would cut costs that much.

Does Eddie have name recognition in TR? I somehow doubt it. I don't follow the Can-Am much anymore but I noticed the other day he's playing for the Federals. I do remember he played in the LBESQ last year and was in the all-star game in Ottawa last year against the IBL all stars. Didn't do much as I recall in the two games.

I'm pretty sure that Eddie is known at some level in Trois-Rivières. You have to take into account that actually, province wide, the Caps and the Can-Am are the highest level of ball available.
