So let me get this straight. The league has really two teams playing correct.

All of Mike's teams have been shuffled around. General Mangers have quit, coaches have quit. He tried to add credabilty with Darren Banks but that wont be enough.

The teams have played only a handful games and its January. Bus companies already are owed money and players havent gotten some of their pay....

What a joke. I really wanted this league to work out for minor hockey. Somebody mentioned consolidation of minors...that happened a while ago when the wphl and chl merged and got rid of the dead wood same with echl/wchl.
Living in Michigan and having seen teams come and go, i had hoped that this would work out better than it has.

The iihl is more or less finished as it is but the more Killbreath comes on this board to get into flame wars the closer his league comes to recievership since they have no fans anyway.

P.S. This was my 100th post!!!

In order to maintain my personal integrity in Athens, I have had no choice but to step down as the GM for the Ice Cats. I consider myself a resident of Athens, and as such, I will support any group that benefits the town. There is no question that while I was in charge of Ohio Valley that the team provided such benefit. If that continues to be the case then I will continue support the Ice Cats in Athens.

Obviously I can no longer offer my services as a player either.

The real shame in all of this that so many people have wasted time, effort and money into this. Even worse, the players that have spent important playing time and season time wasted by the league and its owners. They have wasted a half a season and I am sure a lot of the players money as well in their food, travel, housing etc.

The owners should be ashamed!!!!!!!!

People like this give minor hockey a bad name and abuse the public trust in franchises.

Sorry to see you go Shaun, you were the only person in the league that showed any class. At least you tried. I now believe the funeral procession has started for the IIHL, beat the drum slowly, bring in the flowers, IIHL RIP

I would just like to announce my resignation as Head Coach and GM of the Lansing Ice Nuts effective 01/04/04. I am resigning now to protect my reputation and personal integrity among my contacts in the hockey community. In my 11 games as head coach we accomplished alot. My player/asst. coach Rosty Saglo and I moved 5 players to a higher level as of Sunday. And obviously we were 11-0 on the Ice. In the business community we secured local sponsorship deals that benifitted the players and the sponsors. My only regret is that we could not draw alot of fans to Munn Arena. Our scheduling did not help that cause either as the students at MSU do not return to school until 01/14/04. I wish the Ice Nuts the best of luck for the remainder of the season. The website IceNuts.com will remain updated until April for the players benifit as they try to move up to the next level.

It was just a matter of time. I wonder what is going to happen now???? If it is really true that bus companies are looking for monies, and what not, who are they going to go after????? People are quitting, blagh blagh blagh!!!!! First of all it's JANUARY, and the league starts up the Detroit based team in JANUARY, not November or December, JANUARY. That does not work / can not work. What are they going to do, play make up games? That is alot of make up games, do they want to run this thing into the summer? People are pretty tired of hearing the bull ****. The saddest part of this whole thing... "IF" some of these young kids got paid, and they can't catch on anywhere else they CAN'T go back and play college. They are officially done.

Stick a fork in it. :(

When this is all done, can Big Chris, or whomever, write a book on this whole mess? "How NOT To Run A Hockey League!"

First Peetie, now FR, all the SANE people are jumping ship. Is there a Canadien version of "60 Minutes" to dig into this? If enough Americans actually gave a $#!+ about hockey, "Outside the Lines" might delve into it.

Turn this into a reality show - it's bad enough to actually work (just don't release any porn tapes of Mike Killbreath before the premeire - YIKES)!

In all seriousness, a lot of people have gotten hurt by Killbreath and his actions over the last 4 years. I feel bad for everyone that has indeed gotten hurt by this because they were just trying to make a living being a part of the game they loved. No shame in that at all.

That said, this is more reason for Mike Killbreath to be taken to task and maybe even to jail for his constant fraudulant and shameful treatment of people who thought they were participating in a professional league.

The iihl is not a case of 'how not to run a league' because Killbreath seems to more or less have been bullied into actually getting a league off the ground that he had no intention of fielding. (See his 'tryout camps' in the great lakes IHA for a reference.)

Moose Lewis has nothing on this guy and the fact that he always gets away with it is a crying shame.
