DAJ using Eurobasket to write about a lawsuit he hasn't filed. Ultimately this makes EuroBasket into a complete joke to allow this crap on the website. I can hear Duane now... winning! :p
Atlanta, Ga. (March 21, 2011) Atlanta businessman Duane Allen Jenkins is reported to be pursuing a lawsuit against former Atlanta Hawk basketball player Wayne 'Tree' Rollins. The lawsuit stems from comments made by Rollins in an interview he gave to the Augusta Chronicle newspaper of Augusta, Georgia on June 6, 2010. Jenkins is seeking to address damages against Rollinsfor libel, slander, defamation and tortuous interference
Jenkins's claim is that the statements made by Rollins were libelous and defamatory and that the action that will be brought against Rollins will name him as the sole defendant. Jenkins claims to be interviewing law firms to represents him, 'Every law firm I approached thus far said they will take this case, I'll make the selection over the next few weeks,' said Jenkins. 'The comments Mr. Rollins made were an unfortunate choice of words, we gave him every opportunity to apologize, and however he apparently chooses to stand by his statements, so now he must answer for his actions.' 'When you google my name this article pops up, my friends and family members have seen this interview'.
The lawsuit will include claims of defamation, libel, slander, and wrongful interference with Jenkins business and other related claims.
As it will be alleged in the complaints against Rollins, he will be sued for undertaking an active campaign to spread false statements about Duane Allen Jenkins, the Women's United States Basketball Association (WUSBA) and others. In the widely publicized June 6 interview Rollins referred to Jenkins as a scammer and used several other defamatory and libelous statements during the interview . This incident stems from the cancellation of the basketball season previously scheduled to begin
