Had 22 teams in disfunctional league last season.
Of those 22 ball clubs:
3 have rumored to folded, Miami/Kissimmee/Lincoln
1 the city won't allow NIFL back, Daytona Beach
3 are in question, Lakeland/Montgomery/River City
5 AIFL bound, Daytona Beach/Rome/Fayetteville/New Jersey/Cinn.?/
1 AF2 bound, Everett
2 UIF bound, Billings/ Wyoming
5 IFL bound, Corpus Christi/Odessa/Lubbock/San Angelo/Beaumont
3 committed to the Bush-League NIFL, Dayton-No one in their right mind wants anything to do with the owner/Tri-Cities-I guess they enjoy hanging with scum/SW Louisiana-????

I don't know about Beaumont. They might end up in the IFL eventually. SW Louisiana is in the IFL. Haven't heard about Billings and Wyoming. Care to explain?

There are repeated online rumors-spread by one or two people I think, that Billings and Wyoming are jumping leagues. (Personally, I think there's nothing to them)

Do Billings and Casper really have a choice now? Seems like UIF or fold up shop.

No hard proof, just have read the board rumors. The jump would make sense.

Wyoming and Billings, along with Lincoln (assuming they come back) will struggle in whatever is left of the NIFL. Lincoln would be a good fit for the UIF since it would have a natural rival with Omaha. Lincoln would also work with the APFL, since it's about as low budget as you can go.
Wyoming might fit in better with the UIF, but would still face some long roadtrips. Billings is kind of far for any league right now and I don't think they have anything in place that would get them into the af2 with those new Pac NW teams.
A good plan for both of those teams would be some sort of Rocky Mountain IF League with maybe Loveland, Colo., Broomfield, Colo. (when their building is open), Wyoming, Billings, Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
Travel costs are going to rise substantially for everybody this season (I'll bet that's the biggest reason for the Int.FL-NIFL breakaway), so IMHO, the best plan would be to keep things tight geographically.

The only way Lincoln enters the UIF is if it has new ownership.

I would love to see that idea along with a team from Bozeman, Montana (http://bozemandailychronicle.com/articles/2005/08/17/sports/01nifl.txt).

Haven't heard anything in the St. Louis area about plans for the River City Rage. They had a fairly successful season in 2005, although just changing their nickname from the Show Me Believers could be considered a success. Geographically, the UIF could be an option.

I guess the rumors about the Guard have just been that. Lokks like we will be back in the NIFL this year. Sure had high hopes of a league change to get more teams closer so fans could make road games too

If what I am hearing is true, there will be several new teams in your area for the Guard to play.
Also, all the gloom and doomers on the NIFL might get a surprise. The league is fine and has outlasted every other league in indoor football outside the AFL. Don't believe all the crap that you read. The NIFL in year 6 will be bigger and better than ever.
The play was good last season and promises to be just as good or better in 2006.

Ah yes more false promises and "wait and sees". I assume you are the new webmaster of the NIFL site. May I point out that the hated af2 is actually a year older than your league, so technically it is only the 3rd oldest indoor league around.

"all" Well if there is so much good news for the NIFL why has nothing been put out about it. I am not trying to be down on the league but give me something solid to back it up

I got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale if anybody is interested. The NIFL ponzi scheme is getting pretty close to collapse. If everything is so hunky dory, how come you had teams folding during their season, owners going awol with the team's equipment being repoed, teams getting evicted from their arenas, teams not playing players or coaches (or ASCAP)?
The NIFL seems to be surviving only because new suckers seem to be pouring money in after old suckers got cleaned out. Most teams with any sense of financial responsibility have jumped ship.
Yes, it might last through this season and maybe even the next, as long as someone lets the ego boost of owning a professional sports team gets in the way of the realities of owning a professional sports team.
BTW, the same could be said of the ABA right now.
I'm hearing the same thing, #1 Guard Fan.
Of course we won't know how things actually turn out until after the league meetings.
The rock solid ownership groups in the NIFL want to improve the workings and the image of the league. There will always be those that don't want anything good said about the league, but they usually have ulterior motives.
Mistakes have been made in the past, and the owners that want to see improvement don't want to see false announcements sent out early. There are a lot of leagues competing for teams right now, owners will do what makes the best sense for their team and its fans.
The group of owners that are working toward improvement actively sound pretty impressive. Last I had heard, your ownership group was amongst that bunch.

I know we have two very strong and smart owners so thats why i am hoping that the league will be better than last year. Never understood how you let new teams into the league and then they fold 3-4 games into the season due to money. Someone didn't do their home work on those owners
