The Steelheads drafted big this year. D'Or Fischer, 6-10", 240lb center from West Virginia in the first round. Last season, none of the players drafted by the Steelheads actually played for the Steelheads. I wonder what will become of this year's draftees.

I've seen better Gary draft parties though. The problem is that they AREN'T actually held IN Gary. The draft parties have always been held in the south boonies where there isn't a lot of interest in the Steelheads. Go figure!

There needed to be more women folks at the draft party too. If you didn't bring your own woman folk, then there were none to be found (except for a barfly or two). No Steelheart dancers to walk around the bar area carrying CBA draft boards either. What's up with that? A poster on another thread suggested that minor league basketball needs to attract more women. You'll get no argument from me. Certainly makes the basketball experience more interesting.

There are a few photos of last night's draft party on the Off-Season Stuff (http://gary-steelheads-fan.tripod.com/id4.html) page of the following site:

Ken -

i hope your not in for too much of a disappointement this season. Because what you saw at the draft party is what you are going to get all season.
