Apparently the Jersey Squires are actually the in existence. They're not even a travelling team with out a home or an owner. Rather than just drop a team the home teams kind of collalate a rag-tag bunch of locals, give them the Squires uniforms and throw them out against the home team. Its a kind of try out for the ABA. Now a couple of guys go to each game as players but the majority of them are rounded out by locals who are "trying out" for the ABA by suiting up for the Squires and playing.
So the home team now has to arrange a group of about 7 to 9 guys who want to try out, friends of players and any other dude they can pull off of the street to show up an hour before game time, throw on a Jersey (no pun intended) and play the locals.
The Mexican teams are at least playing an organized team. Atheletes in Action (all born again Christians who preach after the game) who are based out of California are the Jersey Squires (tentatively) for the Mexican teams.
Come see the Squires and get saved!!
