As the international soccer world knows, the BALTIMORE BLAST will host the 2010 - 2011 MISL Championship Game. This not only is one of the biggest soccer matches anywhere, but probably the most important game in the history of indoor soccer.

With the Major Indoor Soccer League on the verge of again rising, it is vital that the BALTIMORE BLAST once again lead the way. A large attendance for the Championship Game is vital to impress some potential league investors who are on the fence. Witnessing 10,000 plus fans as the BLAST goes for WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP number 7, would further open eyes. It could mean the difference in bringing back the Philadelphia Kixx and the Harrisburg Heat knowing that they would have several travel partners. It could mean the return of the New Jersey Ironmen to really form a tough travel friendly east coast division. And if you really allow yourself to dream, those rumors of Carolina coming in may even come to fruition. Therefore, I urge any and everyone who can, that loves soccer, to either make your way to 1st Mariner or watch via the B2 feed.

The BLAST is good not only for indoor soccer, but soccer in general. This organization have survived all of the different leagues, all of the trends, all of the folded teams, all of the scoring systems. BALTIMORE has the longest, continuous run of professional soccer in the United States. Bring on the Milwaukee Wave. Bring on the Kansas City Comets. We’ll play whoever shows up on the hollowed grounds of 1st Mariner Arena.

For my part, I will be attending the game in a big way. I may even reveal myself to the world. I will see how to put this together, but for years, the blogoshere has be clamoring about who is Soccer-Man and where is he from. Well on March 25, those questions may be answered. More information may be forthcoming.

GO BLAST!!!

Ah, what the hell?

As the international soccer world knows, the BALTIMORE BLAST will host the 2010 - 2011 MISL Championship Game.

The international soccer world doesn't pay attention to the MISL. Sorry.

This not only is one of the biggest soccer matches anywhere,

Certainly anywhere in Baltimore, but probably not anywhere else.

but probably the most important game in the history of indoor soccer.

Oh, really? Do tell.

With the Major Indoor Soccer League on the verge of again rising,

Based on what?

it is vital that the BALTIMORE BLAST once again lead the way.

Why?

A large attendance for the Championship Game is vital to impress some potential league investors who are on the fence.

Wait, what? How is a big crowd in Baltimore going to convince the guy in Louisville that he should stop losing whatever he's losing in the PASL or whatever it is and lose more in the MISL? Anyone who's going to invest already knows Baltimore can draw. Baltimore's not the problem.

And, by the way, I would hope you could get a good crowd, given the buy-one-get-one-free deal this supposed powerhouse of indoor soccer had to resort to.

Witnessing 10,000 plus fans as the BLAST goes for WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP number 7, would further open eyes.

Check me if I'm wrong.....didn't you guys get 10k two years ago for the final? How many eyes did that open? Is the answer "just enough to offset the eyes we lost when a bunch of other teams folded?"

It could mean the difference in bringing back the Philadelphia Kixx and the Harrisburg Heat knowing that they would have several travel partners.

Sure, it could. Because that's what's been keeping them out all this time. Travel partners.

It could mean the return of the New Jersey Ironmen to really form a tough travel friendly east coast division.

Okay, let me ask you this: what two teams currently play in the arena the Ironmen used to play in?

I'd hang up and wait for your answer, but we're not on the radio, so I'll answer for you: the Devils and the Nets. Who, between them, take up 74 of the 151 dates and 33 of 66 weekend dates before concert one is booked. And Seton Hall basketball has 15 home dates. So, when are the Ironmen going to play, again? Prudential Center has been booked every day this month and every day so far this year. With events that, I assure you, make more money than an MISL game.

And if you really allow yourself to dream, those rumors of Carolina coming in may even come to fruition.

All things are possible if only the Baltimore Blast can draw for a championship game. Which they've done before, with little ripple effect.

The BLAST is good not only for indoor soccer, but soccer in general.

Pretty big stretch, there. Indoor has had very little impact on "soccer in general" for at least the last 10 years, maybe more.

For my part, I will be attending the game in a big way.

"Go big or go home," they say. We wish you'd go home.

I may even reveal myself to the world.

No, you won't. You don't have the cojones.

I will see how to put this together, but for years, the blogoshere has be clamoring about who is Soccer-Man and where is he from. Well on March 25, those questions may be answered. More information may be forthcoming.

How much planning does it take to say, "Hey, my name is Joe Blow and here's my picture?" Really?

As if anybody cares who you are? Really, we just care that you tone down the rhetoric, quit with the hyperbole and put down the crack pipe. Get over yourself.

Ah, what the hell?

The international soccer world doesn't pay attention to the MISL. Sorry.

Actually in the past 2 years, the Baltimore Blast have formed relationships with AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City, etc when they played at M&T Bank Stadium. The Blast spearheaded the effort to get this going and teamed with the city and the Ravens to finalize the deal.http://www.baltimoreravens.com/News/Articles/2009/03/Media_Advisory_-_World_Football_Challenge.aspx

Certainly anywhere in Baltimore, but probably not anywhere else.

I thank Kansas City or Milwaukee will beg to differ.

Wait, what? How is a big crowd in Baltimore going to convince the guy in Louisville that he should stop losing whatever he's losing in the PASL or whatever it is and lose more in the MISL? Anyone who's going to invest already knows Baltimore can draw. Baltimore's not the problem.

Baltimore isn't the problem, you're right. As for Louisville....playing in the PASL-Pro is a joke. If you're that foolish to play in a rec league, you should lose your shirt. Louisville would be much stronger in the MISL; especially with the number of mid-west teams in place.

And, by the way, I would hope you could get a good crowd, given the buy-one-get-one-free deal this supposed powerhouse of indoor soccer had to resort to.

The BLAST did not have to resort to anything. But when your team turns a profit, you can do things like that. That's how the big boys role. Playing on a Friday, was not the best of dates, so hey, why not give back a little. This game, as in years past would have drawn at least 9,000. Our track record speaks for itself.

Check me if I'm wrong.....didn't you guys get 10k two years ago for the final? How many eyes did that open? Is the answer "just enough to offset the eyes we lost when a bunch of other teams folded?"

Yes we did and it was enough to finish convincing the XSL that there was no hope to compete with any league that the BLAST was a part of. It also layed the ground work for Milwaukee coming back home, Kansas City, Omaha, Wichita, Detriot, Minnesota, Rockford (coming back. owner in place), all coming on board. It also layed the ground work for Monterrey and Philly strongly considering coming back. You are way off base on this one.

o, you won't. You don't have the cojones.

I'm still putting together how I will reveal myself to the world. But I must admit, the blogoshpere is going crazy over the news that I may finally put a face to the name. Stay tuned for more details.

How much planning does it take to say, "Hey, my name is Joe Blow and here's my picture?" Really?

When your name is Soccer-Man, trust me, it takes a lot of planning.

As if anybody cares who you are? Really, we just care that you tone down the rhetoric, quit with the hyperbole and put down the crack pipe. Get over yourself.

I'm known from coast to coast and for the most part, the indoor soccer people like me a lot, as I am good for the game. I love this sport and will do anything to help it grow.

I don't plan on signing autographs, but if someone asked, you know. But lets not make this about me.

The BALTIMORE BLAST will be hosting a very important game and the beneficiaries will be the other teams in the MISL, including the teams that will be joining soon. Next season, we could be witnessing a 10 -14 team league, if all goes as planned.

Go Blast! The Missouri Comets upset the Milwaukee Wave in game One! Woohoo!!

Didn't you know? The true MISL champion is the team that wins the most playoff games...It's a secret hidden minor league bylaw which means that the Blast couldn't win the playoff championship as punishment for playing the fewest playoff games of the three teams....

It was designed (MISL Rule Bylaw 101.21.sm1 of the Major Indoor Soccer crapola act of 2011) in an effort to hurt Soccer-Man & BlastFans feelings!!!

Go Wave!!!! or Comets!!!!

I love this sport and will do anything to help it grow.

Than why not try posting something intelligent about it?

Soccer-Man: Who the hell do you think you are? You must have been drugged when you posted the thread:rolleyes:. All 5 people from "coast-to-coast" will line up to watch the Blast Championship game! You act like the MISL is known worldwide . It is barely known in the US, why do you think this is such a big game. Only Baltimore really cares. But in your delusional mind, you think is some sort of world passion and the Blast are the center of it. Will you shut up, you know nothing . I don't know exactly how you will be known worldwide by attending a Blast game, but try not to embarrass yourself (too late). And yes, we have been clamoring on the message boards about who you are, you are the idiot who posts useless things and thinks the Blast is God. You probably think they can beat the English national team

Next season, we could be witnessing a 10 -14 team league, if all goes as planned.

And when it doesn't happen, you'll say it could still happen in the future.

And my auntie might sprout wings and fly, but I wouldn't count on it.

Love your predictions, though. Love them. They're going to nearly triple in size in the course of a year. So far they've announced Wichita, am I right? Which means they're only four teams away from 10 and eight teams away from 14 if they don't lose Chicago and/or Omaha.

This just in: Charlie Sheen wishes he had some of whatever drug you're on.

Oh, I forgot: Baltimore wasn't even IN the championship game last year and you STILL got three new teams in the league this year. IMAGINE how many they'll get after the most important game ever! It'll be like applications to Boston College after the Flutie Miracle!

When they see the crowd Baltimore is capable of drawing, all the applicants will be drooling on their seats! I hope one of these teams actually outdraws the Blast, because if Baltimore out of all places can succeed, just about any other city can!

So far we have the Wings, and the League is really close to revealing a team set to play in the Target Center in Minnesota (17,000+ seats). Exciting!

That might be because most applicants for an indoor soccer team drool a lot to begin with. Because most of them would have to be challenged in some way to even consider it.

Seriously...do you think anyone who they'd be pitching a team to DOESN'T know that Baltimore draws well?

All they'll have to do is own a local bank, control their own arena, and have 30 years of history to build on and they, too, can have a successful franchise!

Maybe the MISL will give them a buy-one-franchise-get-one-free deal!

This statement may be indicative of why no poster, or MISL employee in their right mind...Would take you seriously.

Reality check -- Any potential owner needs one thing. Money and alot of it...
He could put the franchise in Timbuktu and it could succeed if he is willing
to take a short term hit (AKA -- Chicago, Rockford, Massachusetts). In
today's MISL, the teams follower's are only as big as the team itself can make
them. If they don't find them quickly, they are gone.

So far we have the Wings, and the League is really close to revealing a team set to play in the Target Center in Minnesota (17,000+ seats).

Reality check II -- At least 12,000 of those seats will be empty, per most games...If this franchise even happens to begin with.

Exciting!

Whatever....

Well, two investors were at the game. One from Rochester and one from Detroit. No other team could have drawn the attendance the Blast drew. I'll leave it at that.

Congrats to the Wave for winning the Championship. After 6 years without one, this game certainly lifted their spirits. It also is gonna make the next season more exciting.
