Truth be told, if it wasn't for Spokane and Everett coming in and the new Stockton arena being finished, there probably wouldn't be an af2 West next year.

Hawaii already folded, San Diego and Bakersfield are on the brink, and Fresno/Central Valley doesn't really draw enough to be viable.

Then there's previous failures in Portland and Boise (both of which left a lot of bad tastes in mouths), and a negative reputation for several people in the business throughout the Northwest (probably explains Everett's move).

This concept is something I endorse vice national leagues. However, long term, I don't think it'll work on the West Coast. The AFL teams out here depend on a lot of free tickets and overcounts. This isn't the place. Not to mention that going after the big markets when the logical route is to go with the Stocktons, Bakersfields, maybe the coming Prescott AZ arena, places like that are better markets. Marketing in mega-markets is way too expensive.
