This is what the official SIFL site says when you click on the transaction page. And it's been that way for quite some time.
......................
Transactions
Please check back, transactions will be updated starting in November.
......................
The off-season is a slow and difficult time for the fans. One of the few ways to keep up with teams is to watch the transaction wire to see how the rosters might shape up. Yes, it's early in the process and tryouts to come down the road. It's nice to see where the veterans are signing though and how the new teams may be shaping up.
I've checked this page numerous times over the past month hoping to see it up and running. With November gone surely this would be the day. Then it hit me, it doesn't say what year, just November.
Bad form SIFL, at least change the wording and pretend you care and aren't inept.

I'm sorry.... On this aspect i really feel i let fans down, by my leaving.I tried my best to keep it as up to date as possible in the first 2 seasons, most of the time, up to the minute!... BUT that part was being taken away from me this season anyways so... Oh Well

Well just how snotty can he be?
I do like the transactions page however it seems most leagues list them by day or week as teams make movement. I wish they would have a complete active team roster listed on the league websites. Still show the transaction just add the active roster feature.

One of the sequels Rob is where ol Chad hires you on for his new league next season.

Not snotty at all Dan. It was more polite than snotty. It's called frustration and disappointment.
People always complain about lack of information and coverage. I feel incorrect info is worse than no info. This isn't 2nd or 3rd hand info, it's from their official site. The wording could have been different, don't tell us something and expect no one to notice when it doesn't happen. I've done as they asked and continued to check back for an update. I did my part.
I understand with the league ownership change and merger things have been hectic. How much effort does it take to update your site, or at least remove incorrect info? Only fans go these sites, only people that care notice, sorry these folks don't matter.
I for one have followed certain players in AFL, af2, IFL, SIFL, and AIFA that no longer have their old team to return to or haven't showed up on the transaction of the teams/leagues that do post them. Am I the only fan curious as to where some of these guys might play next season?
The closest team to me now is supposedly Houston (Cypress/Berry Center) about two and a half hours away. I was hoping some of the players I know would sign there and was planning on actually purchasing tickets and supporting them. But we don't even know if a team will play there. It seems we've been told Houston would field an Indoor team the past 3 seasons and I've yet to see one. There were some pretenders thugs/punks that kicked the ball around a soccer field for a couple of games but fell far short of what was advertised.
No, not being snotty at all Dan, just wanting more.

No, I was addressing Dan. Maybe I misunderstood him. Rob has apparently walked away from the SIFL and indoor football as a vocation, even part time, just as Dan apparently has. But Rob hasn't walked away from discussing indoor football, and neither has Dan.

My bad, Rob still a fan who cares and certainly has a good perspective on things, especially after being involved as more than just a fan.

You seem to flip flop. You love to smack teams and leagues over their reporting. Smack if they don't release info, articles, or stats in a timely manner. Smack them for their sub-minor league and unprofessional writing styles. I know it's mostly to let everyone know how good you are at covering sports, pumping up your writing and releases, making sure we all know that no one can hold a candle to your abilities.
Yet when someone else questions something you seem to feel it's wrong. No one is allowed to question a teams/leagues communications besides you. When someone like Jerry tries to write articles or do his "cup of coffee" column you love to toss out sarcastic barbs and try to belittle his unprofessional writing style. when someone passes along tidbits of info you're quick to call them out as unsubstantiated buffoonery.
You seem to draw pleasure from criticizing and belittling others. I apologize for stepping on your toes and pointing out an error in the SIFL's communications department. I know it's your job, but I waited a month to give you the opportunity to question it. It was time to ask for some correct info. Someone took notice, they've removed the statement about November and now only have a blank page for the transactions.
I apologize for caring about the sport and the league. Caring about what teams will play and who their players will be. Maybe you're right, it's not worth the effort to check their site and add hits for nothing. Maybe I'll just wait for someone else to report they've finally decided to get their act together before wasting my time caring about them.
Thanks for setting me straight on how to be a fan and what info we should have a timely access to.

You pretty much have to go the fanteractive site to get updates, and pay $50 for any of the important SIFL info (an oxymoron).

$50 to check transactions, now that's fan friendly for a sport in desperate need of more fans.
I could go to each teams websites and check their transactions/roster. Or the league could pretend to be a professional league and just post the daily transactions on their site. Or do we have to wait until they're sold again?

Since the League is either unable, or unwilling, to use their transaction page I thought I'd waste a little time looking at team site rosters. After seeing the "experience" listed for some of the players I began to wonder how much we can believe what they tell us.
One team has 5 guys listed as having NFL experience. Checking the NFL historical player archives 3 are nowhere to be found. Were they possibly at a camp and never made a team? Does that qualify as NFL experience? 1 was listed in the archives as having 1 year experience but no team was listed and he didn't have any stats at all from the 1 year. The last guy was listed by team, played for a few years and had the stats available.
Then they listed 11 guys as having AFL experience, yet none are listed in the AFL historical player archives. Possibly did they play in the af2? We know that's not the same as the AFL, does the SIFL or their teams not realize that?
The one CFL guy listed did play for a couple of CFL teams. 10 guys are listed as having IFL experience but I didn't feel that was worth the time even checking one way or the other.

As well you should, newiflfan. I used to roll my eyes everytime I saw "Bumfraks Sign Former NFLer" and even more so when I had to inform them of how it's supposed to go.
Partcipating in training camp or even pre-season games does not NFL alumni you make. If you play in a regular season game, then it counts. Even then, I advised that say -- "Buttmunch played two games with the So and Sos in the xxxx season."

Cabby, how ya been?
Fair to partly cloudy.
Waiting for the semi-pro teams in my area to start playing 1st week of March. I'll make some road trips to see Arena and Indoor games but none close enough for season tickets. The semi-pro season tickets are only $40 for the entire home season! Heck, the whole season is only $50 at the gate. Too bad it's only 5 home games, but with the close proximity of all the teams I'm planning on seeing all 10 games. Similar pricing to H.S. and better talent - lol
Hey, maybe that roster with all the NFL exp. was written up by your good friend that got his head shaved on the field. I'm just keeding, I'm keeding!

I really hate to be that guy whose posts read, "I heard from an inside source that a player not-to-be-named, blah, blah, blah..." so I generally try to avoid making posts like that, but this will be one of the few times I do.
Last year the ThunderHawks had a player listed as having NFL experience. Said player's "NFL experience" was getting invited to a camp and failing a first day physical.
