That WSB Box League is interesting Dan K I will check it out if it is ever on tv. I have always liked the idea of a team boxing league to help clean up the sport of boxing and also to help promote boxing to more fans in a team city format. So if a boxer is unknown to the sports fans they will root for there home cities team instead.

I know sports fans don't like when I bring up Buffalo in my post but here is a example of what I am talking about in my post. Buffalo had a boxer "Baby" Joe Mesi or another nickname Joe Mesi had in Buffalo was "Buffalo's third pro franchise" who was a hometown favorite heavyweight climbing the boxing ranks till he got hurt with a brain bleed in a fight in Las Vegas that more or less end his career because Joe Mesi couldn't get licensed in many states including New York his home state.

Anyway I went to alot of his fights and he sold alot of tickets and filled up most of HSBC Arena. He was a so so boxer decent not Ali or Foreman by any means but a solid boxer. Anyway he had a huge local Buffalo following because we rooted for him because he was from Buffalo.

I knew nothing much about Joe Mesi but I rooted for him because he was from my city of Buffalo and would fight locally in Buffalo area alot. I like boxing so I would go to his fights. He fought on ESPN 2, Showtime and HBO etc and had a following even ran for political office locally but lost. My long winded point team boxing can work in the US to help grow boxing. We are a team sports society so this is exactly what I think can help grow boxing in my opinion.

I realize MMA and UFC is big with the younger fans today. I am a huge boxing fan going back to all the greats of the 1970's like Ali, Foreman, Frazier and Holmes etc. This amateur league sounds like a step in the right direction to help bring boxing back to what it once was. I prefer boxing over MMA and UFC maybe I just getting old I don't know. Let's Go Buffalo
