Northern League of Professional Hockey

Anyone know what happened to this proposed Single-A league that was to start in 2005-06 with teams in the northeastern U.S. and southern Ontario? Targeted cities included the Ontario cities of Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Welland, Cornwall, North Bay, Brantford, and LaSalle, and the U.S. cities of Utica, Hampton Roads, Huntington (WV), Roanoke, and Worcester.

I remember that one, they ran an ad in The Hockey News a year or so ago but so far I haven't heard anything more about that league.

I believe that league changed it's name to the Continental hockey league. They have a website (www.aleaguehockey.com.). I know the one team is in St.Catherine so I am thinking that it is the same league. There is also a team in Pittsburgh and I think Delaware.
There is also another league called the Canadian Elite hockey league.

They are not the Continental Professional Hockey League. Jeff Grable decided not to go forward with the Northern League.

My mistake! I thought it was the same because a couple of the cities are the same. Thanks for the info.

The Canadian Elite Hockey League is a new Senior-AAA league that has teams in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
The League has 4 teams, and someone set-up a forum for fans.
