We'll find out soon enough but I wanted to get some opinions and start a debate about who is this year's MVP. To me it's down to three choices:

Josh Pressley - missed about 50 games, came back and missed the home run crown by one. Carried a team, Somerset, that was slumping to start the second half to a division crown.

Scott Grimes - Catalyst of powerhouse York offense. Set league record (and led all of professional baseball) in runs scored. Not a bad outfielder either.

Steve Moss - Bridgeport lost its No. 3 and 4 hitter in July and did not lose a step. Moss has been cog in this potent attack.

Grimes is my pick. Tough call though. His teammate Ramon Castro should be mentioned as well.

I don't think you can overlook Aaron Herr either. .321 23 103, great defense, and his team was in the race until the final week or so.

Yeah, good season for Aaron Herr as well. I feel the MVP should come from a playoff team, but Lancaster was in it. It was tough when they lost Perry in August. Tough to lose your clean-up hitter and keep it going. But Herr is a good choice as well.

The MVP has got to be Casey Benjamin of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
He comes in middle of the season and automatically becomes an everyday starter at second base. He becomes a fixture in the 2nd hole of the batting order. He is a left handed power hitter that doesn't strike out much either and is extremely patient at the plate. He also has some speed in him too.
He used to play AAA in Oklahoma and I actually got to see him play there once.
When he was with Oklahoma he was the starting shortstop there. He can play all of the infield positions. He's best at shortstop and second, but I've seen him play 3rd and 1st and do well there.

Also, he was the Blue Crabs' player of the year according to Butch Hobson and he was player of the month in the Atlantic League.

Not to forget he scored the first home run off of the first pitch at the All Star game, and he was player of the All Star Game I believe.
