I don't know about the bit about the format as implemented by the NFL for the AFL, but if I were 20 years younger, I think it would be a blast. I played in a men's indoor soccer league in my days. We have an outdoor semi-pro team around here that's about the same way. The biggest obstacle is, on top of the $63 entry fee per player, you probably have to buy your own equipment, which can run several hundred $$$ if you don't already own it.
