OK the IFL had 25 teams for 2010. They have lost 3 bringing the current number of returning teams to 22.

They have added Wyoming, Lehigh, Reading and Wenatchee upping the number to 26.

In there pr today they say 28 most likely the final number. My question is who are the other two and do they reach 28 by just adding two more or does maybe West Michigan and Maryland not return and there intent to add four or five to reach 28? Also maybe Austin goes SIFL.

Rumored to still maybe be included are San Jose, Yakima, Erie, Grand Island, NE, Tucson, and Prescott, AZ

Jerry,
Who are three the IFL lost? Alaska, Corpus Christi, _______?

I think the last two will be Erie and Yakima. Geographically, it makes sense.

That would make your 28.

Now, here's a thought.
Lose W. Michigan, Maryland, Austin. that's 3. total is down to 25.
Pick up three teams from? Grand Island, Cincinnati, OK City

They lost Amarillo too, and Arkansas is rumored to become an SIFL team in Texas. At that point there is concern about the rest of the TX teams following.

Now if the low-rent dopes who run the Maryland Maniacs have any honest cash left, it would be a good time for them to hire the Mariners' coach and front office off the street and point out to 1st Mariner that AIFA has no future. Who holds that arena lease now that the Mariners are in limbo?

It's Abilene that moved to the SIFL, not Amarillo.(for now):)

Abilene! thank you 50. I forgot about them.

Well, that makes Texas an even more interesting place.

If Amarillo, SA, Odessa, Allen, and Austin decide to join Abilene and Corpus Christi, the IFL loses 4-5 more teams. Brings the total back down to 23-24.

IF Cincinnati, Grand Island, OK City jump ship to the IFL, that would be 26-27.

I say the IFL will field 25 teams in 2011.

Not sure if Prescott is in the mix or not... One of the gents slated to coach them just moved here to Casper about a month ago. I don't think he's affiliated with the Cavs, they just moved here due to lack of day job work there.

I have still failed to see any official Wenatchee statement

I've been told the Venom to IFL move is a done deal. I saw the team had a public appearance over the weekend, which could have held things up, or maybe they decided not to put out the release on the Friday before a long weekend.

I'm very curious to see what comes from the league meetings this week, specifically in regards to West Michigan.

They've been doing some updates on the website, posting ticket prices for 2011, but there has been zero official public communication from the front office since a July newspaper article.

Or before the league meetings.

Everything I get from the IFL without them actually saying it says Wenatchee is a done deal. They are not going to tell me directly prior to any official release.

Also maybe Austin goes SIFL.

Not going to happen.

Anyone see the IFL meetings logo posted on the Reading Express site? You can find it here: http://www.expressindoorfootball.com/news/index.html?article_id=83

Interesting theme for the meetings: "Chicago Fire! Extinguishing and Rebuilding."

Actually, looks like somebody goofed. Check the league transactions for 9/2:

There's a move involving Wenatchee listed. Official before the official release!

Oh, that is so frakkin righteous ... I just love the quality of PR in our niche sometimes...

I am surprised that Austin and Amarillo haven't joined the SIFL considering all the others have.

Maybe several other AIFA teams will join the IFL but I do think that a definite is Cincinnati Commandos but let's see!

Hope Arkansas Diamonds change their name as Twisters was much better!

There's a list on Wikipedia that includes Central Valley Coyotes, Grand Island, Arizona Adrenaline and Oklahoma Yard Dawgz! Then again other possibilities are listed as:
Moline, Illinois (Quad City Steamwheelers)
Las Vegas, Nevada
Albuquerque, New Mexico (New Mexico Wildcats of AIFA)
El Paso Generals
San Diego Shockwave
Laredo Lobos
Peoria, Illinois (Peoria Pirates?)
Boise, Idaho (Boise Burn?)
Oregon
Everett Destroyers
Bakersfield, California (Bakersfield Blitz?)
Indianapolis, Indiana
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers
Lexington, Kentucky (Possibly the Kentucky Horsemen)
Toledo Bullfrogs
St. Louis, Missouri (Possibly the RiverCity Rage)
Evansville, Indiana (Evansville BlueCats?)

Going to be an interesting offseason especially to see which leagues are still standing!

Just an impression but it doesn't sound like the commissioner is planning to weed out any further IFL teams, good news if I'm right for West Michigan and Maryland.

Very impressive.

From a coverage stand point, the Reading Express are looking like quite the addition.

Completely agree. They've been hitting up the PR hardcore. Wish my team would follow suit.
