Very interesting article from the Quad.

If you ask me, the AFL shift might have been good for their television goals (though the results have been spotty). Depends on the market, but some were definitely not helped IMO. Dallas and Arizona spring quickly to mind.

Now, af2... what do I know? What do you think? I'm scrambling back to see how many af2 teams are in college towns that might be hurt by this. I'm wondering if the Southern teams in af2 might be hurt because fans believe it's better indoors in the summer (compare baseball attendance between leagues... should open some eyes). Heck, if anything, I'd argue that smaller regional leagues with their own schedules would work better than these attempts at an overarching national structure.

I can't see it happening unless they wanted to play on Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons or weekdays early in the season. Too many af2 buildings have hockey teams.
It was interesting to hear the Quad Cities owner wanting Peoria back. Would the UIF let Peoria back in.
But then again, if the af2 goes that early, other leagues could come into those cities, since the af2 seasons would be ending (regular seasons in late May) as the other leagues are starting theirs.
