How Dare to those who treats the CFL like a minor league. There are some loyal fans up there who worked so hard to support their teams. if you go to Canada to see a CFL game, u could see that it has a Major League atmosphere! SO ITS NOT MINOR LEAGUE, SO IF THIS IS A DISCUSSION ABOUT OTHER FOOTBALL LEAGUE, DONT INCLUDE THE CFL AS THAT OTHER LEAGUE BECAUSE THE CFL IS A MAJOR LEAGUE LIKE THE NFL!

I am glad that there is a true die-hard CFL fan on the boards. I love the CFL and in fact I prefer it over the NFL, Arena, NFLE, and any of the lower indoor leagues. I however do not believe the CFL is major. It is Canada's major football league and is in my opinion the second most talented level of football. The CFL will always be considered minor because it does not have man for man the absolute best. Yes, some CFL players are better than NFL players, just look at Kenton Kieth, Corey Holmes, and Joe Montford. I believe these players are every bit as good in pure playing ability as most NFL players. They and many other CFL players just suffer from lack of size or non-conventional playing style. The NFL wants only cookie cutter players with cookie cutter styles and cookie cutter coaches with cookie cutter philosophies. The NFL calls it parody I call it cheap. I still have to accept the fact that for the most part CFL players just aren't as good as NFL players. I think the offensive line and defensive backs are the most obvious. However just because they might not all be as good as NFL players that doesn't mean that I don't think they are great. I believe the CFL has outstanding athletes and like I said they are the second highest level of pro football and that's still pretty good. I just wanted to try and explain why the CFL is minor league in America. I also wanted to show you that even people who accept the league for what it is still love the game. I have always prefered the CFL and always will. Go Riders! and welcome to the OSC boards Texan.

DavidCFL in definitely a top notch league.Very exciting ball. I've watched since I first remember them televising games on ESPN back when I was 7 seven yrs old & guys like Warren Moon, Jim Germany, Brian Kelly & Tom Scott were winning Grey Cups in Edmonton. The top players are on par with some of the real good players in the NFL. It is a step below but is in no way a minor league. There are some people who just think it's NFL or nothing and I'm not one of those. I saw some great comebacks this season.Every game seems to be going to the end.Montreal almost coming back against Winnipeg but losing 51-46, Ottawa's come from behind 4th qtr win over Montreal, Toronto's comeback win 28-26 after trailing Saskatchewan at the half , Hamilton almost coming back against Edmonton but losing 36-30. What we need is a league like that here in the states. There are so many more talented athletes then there was back during the USFL days and the training has become so much more advanced that I cant believe some people dont believe with the financial backing that it would work.
