I've been listening to the archived broadcasts of the ABALive talk on their website. The host was saying this is the "new" ABA and it's a totally different monster than before. He was also saying the league is trying hard to gain respect by making each team conform to a set of rules or they cannot play, i.e., financial background checks, venue sizes, etc.

What does everyone think of this? Is Newman for real or just blowing smoke? I know a lot of people here hate the ABA for one reason or another but lets here some honest opinions about what they are trying to do and what they can realistically accomplish.

they say there is a nut for every bolt but i really think that the aba is a joke with way too many teams.............you figure that the guy is getting 10 grand per market reserve if the teams play or not thats a good half mil a year not bad for a guy who really doesnt do much of anything but write bad press briefs about the fine wonderful owners of nothing more then fantasy teams..........if the d leauge is triple a and the cba is high double a i really dont see the aba much more then a short season rookie leauge that is badley mismanaged.............i hope all these people who think they are gonna make a buck or two from a very bad investment wake up and smell the roses..................i wish the old ibl was still around at least no team ever folded in mid season and the quality of players was good so i think the aba is as big a scam as the aapbl(i had such hopes that it was real)
